As smooth as silk, that run up and action. A thing of beauty.

Sir Richard Hadlee is the best bowler among the 4 allrounders-86 tests - 431 wickets-a great economy record-first bowler to get 400+ wickets------ease with which he used to get wickets coming from a country where there were no many fast bowlers.

i think Imran khan was as good a bowler as Hadlee if not better. He played for quite sometime as a specialist batsman due to his injury and ofcourse he played on batting friendly pitches while hadlee played mostly on pitches that favourd seamers.

Richard Hadlee called in as an injury replacement for Willie Watson. Love it!

Lol... Willie who?
@dlamiss4 жыл бұрын
He suffered by not having anything remotely test match standard at the other end in Test cricket. Botham had Willis, Imran had Sarfraz and later on Akram and Lillee had Thommo or a couple of others later in his career

Can u imagine Hadlee opening with Trent Bolt. Southee first change. They would rattle through most teams.

By far and away New Zealand best Cricketer Sir Richard Hadlee and he was in that 1985/86 team that came to Australia and Won and in opinion is in the best New Zealand team I've seen with the Crowe Brothers Mark Greatbach,Petal,Snedden,Ian Smith,Carnis,Ewen Chatfield and they went on to be great side for years and Won until that drawn test against Australia at MCG in 87/88 when Mike Whitney had to block out a whole over against Richard Hadlee that was Allan Borders first Seires win as Captain of Australia when he took over the Captaincy from Kym Hughes and Australia went on to be a very successful side from then up until ricky pointing tour of England in 2005. But this is about Sir Richard Hadlee one of the best all rounders of all time and New Zealand best by far.

Very single-minded, similar to Boycott actually . Did he even mention any other Notts players apart from a brief mention of Clive Rice.
