I was 14 & in Junior High when this song came out in 1970. At that time Hurricane Celia had devastated Corpus Christi, Tx. But this song has always been a favorite of mine. I'm 65 Yrs old and probably will still be listening to this song till the end of my days. Good music such as this is hard to come by. Neil Diamond if you're still performing out there Sir... KEEP ROCKIN !!! Your music will always live on !!!

Amazing how legendary artists like Neil Diamond simply perform their songs because they are great. He comes out on stage and sings without having what seems like hundreds of dancers and laser lights. At least when you go to see him entertain you know what to expect. You know you won't think you are at the circus.

It will never be a question of age to appreciate a great artist like Neil Diamond. I'm more than thirty years younger than him and he's my favorite singer, poet and composer ... And forever! You just need to have the sense of feelings, emotion, sincerity and to love a deep and wonderful soul, an exceptional intelligence and a free mind. If you've got the notion and the feeling of all that, you will love that artist like no other ... And I do love him like no other! En français, vous êtes le plus grand des talents, dear Neil Diamond. ❤️

Neil Diamond (born in 1941) is celebrating his 77th birthday today January 24, 2018. He is one of America’s most enduring songwriters best known for his singalong hits “Sweet Caroline” and “Cracklin’ Rosie,” it was announced Monday that he has Parkinson’s disease, and is retiring from concert touring as a result of the diagnosis.

"Solitary Man" was the first record Diamond recorded under his own name that made the charts. It remains one of his personal all-time favorites, as it was about his early years as a songwriter, even though he failed to realize it at the time: It wasn't until years later, when I went into Freudian analysis, that I understood that it was me. It was an outgrowth of my despair.

This song makes much more sense as the decades have passed. As the narcissism of western and not so western women have sky rocketted, staying away from them and being solitary is the sane approach.
@maiajintcharadze7485
@maiajintcharadze7485 8 жыл бұрын
"Narcissism of women have sky rocketted..." What if some girls don't want to be with some men not because the girls are narcissistic but maybe because the men are sexist?
@thewhatorwhy
@thewhatorwhy 8 жыл бұрын
Maia Jintcharadze The only problem with this statement is that it's usually a case of women going after the wrong culprit - when society talks about sexist men, they are not talking about the men who think of women as blow up dolls, but the nice guys who don't ask much of women to begin with. Most societies have pampered women to the point where they think they can ask anything.
@thewhatorwhy
@thewhatorwhy 7 жыл бұрын
Kim Smith I am actually talking about a certain kind of woman. Maia provided the perfect example and there's my reply to it. Go ahead, blame the true asshole men. But 'modern' women and feminists/liberals love to trash men as a whole and somehow go after the nice guys, who are accused of being 'entitled'. So ... not wanting to beat up women, being interested in deep, long term relationships allows these Cinderella airheads to pick on some of the good ones. Which is the point of my original post.
