As an underwater photographer, I have a lot of equipment that really could do with being put into a hard case like one (or more) of these. But, because I fly lots with it (and luggage weight limits are far lower than the weight of all the kit I'd ideally like to take), I have to bung what I can into a samsonite case, wrap it in my wetsuit and clothes, and then pray,,, lots. Also, a pelican type cases seem to be a complete magnet to customs officials around the world (💸💸💸). You always make fantastic and beautifully made videos Neil... My only complaint is that I wish you'd make more of them... 😊

Who's taking a hard case hiking?

Fair question @patto2276. Taking a hard case on an actual hike? Not many. However, one or two kilometres is certainly a reality. There have been countless situations where my backpack was maxed out and I needed to bring lights, a remote aircraft, additional lenses, or a specialty camera that demanded a bit more protection - and slinging a hard case a few clicks from the vehicle was the only solution 😃😃😃

I do, mind you having like 10k worth of gear in a soft case isn't the place when hiking and walking next to rivers.
