I was just looking to get one of the two wide angle lenses and stumbled upon your video. Thank you! This was helpful and a very well-made video :)

Does it have a filter thread on the front? 🤔
@neilmossey Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the kind question - the Neewer lens does have a filter thread - I use mine to mount a teleprompter. Hope this helps!

I have the ZV1 and shoot more cinematic footage (25fps at 1/50) this means I often use ND filters. Can you screw on ND filters onto the wide angle lense, and when you're not using the lense can is there a way to mount ND filters? Great vid !

Hi @BigGrizzlyOutdoors Thanks for the kind message - I think you can screw ND filters to the stick-on plate of the Ulanzi, (just tested that, I can with my 52mm filter) or you could use the ZV1 ND adapter ring by JJC - which sticks on. Alternatively you might like the Came-TV adapter ring which mounts on a tripod and holds the ring in the correct position, instead of sticking an adapter on with tape. I'll put the link in the next comment because I'm not sure if youtube blocks links in comments. Hope this helps and good luck!

@@neilmossey sorry maybe I didn't explain myself as well as I should have. I have the adapter ring stuck on the ZV1 so I can screw on ND filters as I need to. However if I was to use the Neewer wide angle lens then the adapter ring would need to be removed. Therfore can you thread ND filters onto the Neewer wide angle lens? Then when not using that Neewer wide angle lens how do you then mount the filters? Can you see where I'm coming from. I like the look of the Neewer lens especially how it's mounted but I'm not sure I can switch between the ZV1 lens and the Neewer wide angled lens and still use ND filters on both?

@@bravogolfoscar Ahh thank you - forgive me, I think I understand now. The Neewer seems to have a thread, but it's 62mm (on my ruler and written on the inside of the lens cap), so much larger than my 52mm ND filter. I see what you mean about interchanging them - ironically, the Ulanzi might be much better for you as you could swap between the wide angle and ND filter. The Ulanzi lens seems to have a thread, and is 58mm (on my ruler and written on the inside of the lens cap too) Hope this helps - this information doesn't seem to be on the product listings! Let me know if I can help further

Hi can you still use zoom and get a clear image or do you have to remove the wide angle lens ?

Hi Joe Thanks for the kind question - it looks just the same when I use zoom with mine... Hope this helps!

I'm confused, how does the lens stay on, I have no idea? I'm sat with it and it doesn't screw on, it happened to you but how did you fix that?
@neilmossey Жыл бұрын
Hi Life of Lydia - sorry to hear this. Forgive me, is this the first lens in the video or the second one? Hope I'm understanding your question correctly: The first lens needs to have the mounting plate stuck onto the lens, and then you screw the wide angle lens onto the plate whenever you want to use it. It's extremely fiddly and easy to miss the thread. What I do is turn it the 'wrong way' - anticlockwise- until I hear a click where the thread slips into place and then turn it the correct way 'clockwise' to tighten it on. Hope this helps

@@neilmossey Hi Neil, I managed to figure it out in the end, although after only a handful of uses it fell off my camera and I couldn't get it back on! I've ended up leaving it back in the UK and I'm travelling now without the lens! :(

Why not just use a extendable tripod?

It does defeat the purpose of the small camera. It's better than the Ulanzi but I'd prefer none at all.
