Man the ZV-1 is an absolute killer camera. If you want to start a channel and have the funds for it, get the ZV-1. It’s small, powerful, compact, great dynamic range and autofocus. Combine it with a wide angle lens? You got no excuse for not hitting 1000 subs… 👀

I have an add-on filter adapter for my Canon G15 (non-threaded lens) that uses an adhesive base with magnetic filters and I live in Phoenix. Over time the adhesive will shift and/or distort and cause the lens/filter to move out of alignment. Mine came with 3 adhesive rings and I've only used 2 so far in 6 years. I use a circular polarizer and ND filter on the G15. Thanks! (Oh, I wound up with the M50 when comparing price and features with the ZV1, plus I have 2 other Canon cameras and a bunch of lenses).

Standard ZV-1 at widest is 24mm , what does it become (roughly) after using the adapter, 22, 20,18mm ? Many wide angle adapters were great to use, but after a few shoots, it become so loose and fell off in the middle of filming. That's something people really want to know, that adhesive tape that came with the adapter look cheap and nasty already before use 4:52 .

I notice the difference, but I do have a question: is the lens adhesive going to ruin the camera? One thing I saw is that it puts a sticky residue on the camera from the adhesive. I would hate to mess up my camera with that.

At first I loved the ZV-1 but always had trouble with it overheating while recording my workout sessions. I contacted Sony to find out that you can only record in 4k for 19 minutes before the heat indicator comes on and then shuts down at 20 minutes. Which also doesn't work for me when I'm recording a gaming videos either.

My opinion, shoot in 1080p. 4k has no measurable difference in regards to video performance. Most viewers don’t care about the difference between 4k and 1080

Thanks for your videos! I've used many of them to set up my studio! I'm going to upgrade my camera (using a Samsung S10E) and my head is spinning with all the options. I'm down to the top 3. Sony ZV-1 with wide angle lens, Canon m50 mark 1 or 2 and Canon SL3. I'm looking to spend about $700 maybe a little more. My thought is to have 3 cameras in the future to switch between guests. I don't need a mic input at the moment because we record audio into the rodecaster (we will probably vlogin the future). I would like no record limits because our podcasts are 1 hour+ and we would like to do live stream them eventually. My biggest issue is the space I have between the camera and the subjects on the podcast. There are about 63 inches from the camera to the closest person on screen (there are two of us in the shot from the waist up with a small table in between). What do you think would be the best camera in this situation?

It makes me look orange almost and sometimes it makes me look VERY VERY dark. I use manual exposure because the auto feature literally takes my skin down 3 shades and makes me dark lol.

Good review, showing all the details of using it ... I think with that lens though, the setup isn't as small, and the ZV-e10 with a 16mm native lens, you might still be better off. Granted, that while the ZV-E10 is very close in price, once you buy a lens, even a used one, you're getting to the $1,000 threshold. And while $1,000 could get you into a Canon RP, that doesn't have any stabilization at all. Buying camera gear is tricky ^^

I've been on the search for the ZV-e10 but it seems to be sold out everywhere! I thought I had found one, quickly ordered it, but it turns out the link was for the ZV-1. My order included the camera, plus I added the 16-50mm lens. I'm kicking myself for my mistake. Do you think it's worth keeping (I'll return the emount lens)? Or should I return the whole thing and wait for the ZV-e10 to be back in stock?

@@SouliPaspaporn I think its a fabulous camera! its derivative of the RX100 line of cameras, and the built-in 1.8-2.8 lens is fabulous. Less stuff to buy, less to carry. If you want to vlog while holding the camera in-hand (which I'd never do anyway), you can get the Ulanzi wide angle + Macro adapter, with a magnetic ring, so you can take it off and put it on any time you like. Its by far the smallest, lightest and most powerful vlogging platform. Only annoyance to me was the Micro USB and the fact, that my digital Sony boom mic does not work with the ZV-1 hot-shoe. I probably shouldn't have expected a mic for full frame cameras to work on the ZV-1... But I wanted to be able to swap the same mic between the ZV-1 and the A74. If you later buy a ZV-e10 or the successor, the ZV-1 will still be brilliant for B-Roll :D

Would you say this would be good for overhead videos? I draw a bit and have a m50 with 22, 32 m lens, k&f tripod. Both lens and camera weigh down the over head set up and the lens are either too close and cut put paper or too far a way. I tried multiple set ups and in the end went with my iphone se 2020. My dilemma is getting phones calls and such, so I would like a designated camera for videos. I know it was lengthy and appreciate any comments :)
