Actually there were a few people from this time doing similar things from TLC and No Doubt/Gwen Stefani to Shakira, Jewel, etc. It was par the course for the late 90s, early 2000s. Music today is just revisiting this era again. Kinda like we did in the mid 2000s regards 70s era music with indy bands and the mid 1990s did the 70s for fashion (like flared bell bottom pants and platform shoes).

if you're reading this Nelly Furtado, I really wish you would come back to the music industry. I miss you so much. We're missing such great talents and you're one of them. Your songs have given such inspiration to many others trying to break into the music industry. Your songs helped me when I was on the down-low, especially when I was just trying to grow up, going through numerous stress encounters on a daily life basis, and I guess fit into certain societal standards that were conservative, pressed on all sides and hard to comprehend. I was bullied during my teenage years and your songs have given me a sense of peace and proud existence of living on Earth. Your songs revitalise my youth and I'm glad I have listened to such great artists like you. Long live, Nelly Furtado.

Charles Jones Ummm... Her first album was pop, maybe a bit more eclectic or alternative, but still pop. So she didn't completely turned pop, she was always pop. She has said herself that she faced criticism when she started her career from people who apparently knew her before she hit it big, but that she always wanted to be, and considers herself, a pop singer. I have to agree she's one of the best.

early 2000s that was the times! vibe of 90s was still in the air. actually 90s have ended in 2003-2004.

Yes, the sentiments of the 90's bleeded into the 2000's , just like the 80's did until 94'. I would say as far as into 2005....

Hi there Lovely Nelly, my real Name is Mr Cannadine T. Boxill-Harris. I'm still a big fan of yours for at Least Thirteen and a Half Years I’am glad that you Really Really Like the Background Music Of This Particular Song that what I have suggested for you and your Bandmates oh by the way I just needed to know are you and your band are still Re-using, Remixing and Re-Extending those Original Background instruments and still Reusing you’re own Extended word Lyrics but sing it differently and Reusing those original Extended background Versions for those Particular song’s By Andrew Gold and The Korgis, Never Let her Slip Away and Everybody got to learn Sometime, why don’t they just Replace the Synthesizer Strings Sound to a Two Musette Accordion’s and make those Musette sounds for the Two Accordion’s 4 to 6 and a Half times more Lower then the Original Synthesizer Strings Sound so they can still have this Particular song called Everybody’s got to Learn sometime by the Korgis, also Replace the Xylophone Sound to a 26 and a half Times More Lower Chime Bells and Even a 67 and a half Times More Lower Still Drums Sound, Because it is Still one of my Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Very Favorite Song’s Ever Since I was about 10 Years of Age Thank You and I Like you’re singing Nelly Furtado and make you’re singing Voice three and a half times more Deeper Please X X X X X X X X X X X kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3yYd41noZqsopofeature=shared

She's a musical pop/alternative legend in my book. Yes she fell of at some point but musical careers do have a timeline. Your best work will always vary across time. This is definitely one of her greatest songs of all time though.

You liked me till' you heard my shit on the radio Well I hate to say but pop aint' going solo You liked me till' you heard my shit on the radio But now I'm just too mainstream for you, oh no You liked me till' you seen me on your TV Well if you're so low below then why you watching You say good things come to those who wait Well I've been waiting a long time for it I remember the days when I was so eager to satisfy you And be less then I was just to prove I could walk beside you Now that I've flown away I see you've chosen to stay behind me And still you curse the day I decided to stay true to myself You say your quest is to bring it higher Well I never seen change without a fire But from your mouth I have seen a lot of burning But underneath I think it's a lot of yearning Your face, the colors change from green to yellow To the point where you can't even say hello You tell me you'd kill me if I ever snob you out Like that's what you'd expect from me, like that's what I'm about I remember the days when I was so eager to satisfy you And be less then I was just to prove I could walk beside you Now that I've flown away I see you've chosen to stay behind me And still you curse the day I decided to stay true to myself It's so much easier to stay down there guaranteeing you're cool Than to sit up here exposing myself trying to break through Than to burn in the spotlight, turn in the spitfire Scream without making a sound, be up here and not look down Because we're all afraid of heights I remember the days when I was so eager to satisfy you And be less then I was just to prove I could walk beside you Now that I've flown away I see you've chosen to stay behind me And still you curse the day I decided to stay true to myself Why ya hurt me hurt me hurt me hurt me hurt me hurt me so so Leave me down down down down low leave me down da down down da down da down down down shit on the

As I listen to those early 2000s songs i realize how music really changed for the worse. I mean I knew that, but now i can hear just how much. Music back then was written, composed. Now it's manufactured. And lacks soul.

He tenido la suerte de haber sido escuchado la música de Nelly furtado y otros mas cantantes cuando era adolescente, los mejores tiempos fueron en los 2000's, luego la música ya no fue la misma. Y es bueno mirar muchos comentarios en Español.
