Similar to my story first to get married at 21 among six sisters and I was the last born among nine siblings. I honestly thank God everyday for leading me into making such decision, God saw my naive mind and just choose to pity me with a good marriage. I now have my three children, my PhD and established career path

Good for you. And I am sure that career path you chose was backed and supported by your hubby. Awesome guy😃 There’s nothing wrong in early marriage. At 21. My own is when it’s his turn to make sacrifices for you to fly, he should support you. Instead of plucking your wings. Two heads that are “one” is better because they support and cheer each other.

Honestly, I have a lot of things to say but like Nelo said, everyone has a different model in life. I’ll drop this here, my fellow young girl please do not give up a present career part because of a man. Even if a trusted family member tells you that he might be that one in a life time person. Why didn’t he consider that you might his one in a life time person too? If any human being tells you to choose between your career in life and him today, please drop him. They’re a lot of fishes in the sea trust me. Finally, nobody should get married at least too early in this economy, what will you and your children eat? The only reason to get married early in this present time is 1: Pregnant out of wedlock and 2: Your husband is financially capable to lead the home for sometime. I seriously have a lot to say but it worked out for her and I don’t want to sound bitter. I’m actually glad it did. I want to believe he has grown over the years and he wouldn’t drop that kind of command for her again. So I’ll leave this for my fellow young girls, pursue your career and let no man stop you, if he leaves because of the advice he got from people, he is definitely not the one. Trust me, if she chose her career, it’s one of two things, 1: he realizes he can’t do without her and 2: he leaves and she’ll probably be with a better man today. I’m not dragging her, I’m just pained she had to sacrifice a whole lot and the fact that she said she’ll take the same route again. If you’re a young girl and considering dropping a career for a man and you’re seeing this comment, better pick up your bag and go to that office or shop. I’m not a feminist but I hate when women are given the order to choose. Why can’t the man choose? Would he have chosen her then if he was given between a multimillion job opportunity that comes with being single?

Yeh I agree. It’s not advisable for women to make such huge sacrifices regarding their career so they can be in a relationship/marriage. Coupled with the fact that the guy is much older than her it is a bit of a red flag
@Mercy-o2k

I was conflicted yesterday because of something like this, women are usually the ones making big sacrifices, but at the same time you’re with a great man that would give you everything, but there’s still this satisfaction that comes with personal achievements. I just feel being married is going to somehow hinder you, even though there isn’t physical hurdles but you will need to start being a wife to your husband, Unless the husband is going to be the one pushing you to do everything you want. And deciding on no kids🥺
@usonwaagbo6331
@usonwaagbo6331 Жыл бұрын
@@Mercy-o2k In as much as I get you, this isn’t where I was going to. You have to make sacrifices in marriage, there is no 2 ways about that but making major sacrifices about your career because your man told you to is what I’m against. If she decided to drop the career even before he brought it up, I wouldn’t mind. She decided to do that, my problem is she wasn’t even given the benefit of doubt. He just assumed that she wouldn’t handle it and ordered her to drop it. I’ve gone to watch her videos with Nelo and her channel and she keeps making reference to this occasion, to me she’s pained. She’s yet to heal, this man didn’t allow her to decide, she’s speaking about this every time now to heal from it. She has made examples where she said, I’ll drop it cause my husband might not be cool with this, I’ll call the pastor etc. This man seems like someone that has never entrusted her to make good decisions on her own. He opens his wings and makes her believe he got it but he doesn’t. If she can see this comment, she should please sit down and rethink everything about her marriage, she needs to talk to her husband about a lot of characters that she has personally brought to the internet. Finally, it’s not a flex to drop a career for a man. Left for me, I want to get married early Oo, I’m done with uni and if I secure a good job today and find the man for me, why will I not go ahead with it? I don’t have issues with sacrificing in marriage, I have issues with being ordered to do so.

You’re such a smart woman! Personally, early marriage is a no for me and wouldn’t recommend for my daughter, reason being, I feel she should be more self aware and explore her options. I would attend the weddings of my friends who married early and sit wondering and applauding their bravery. Just how were they able to make such a big decision at such a young age It worked out for most of them though, today they’ve achieved all I wanted to achieve before marriage and have the advantage of their kids being older than mine even up to 10 years older. I’m glad it worked out for you. I pray for all women who desire marriage, especially the senior singles. May they get connected to their person and get it right For those awaiting kids and are getting older, may their desires be fulfilled May we all be happy

I disagree with him asking you to choose him (marriage) instead of your goals. To me it’s manipulation and selfishness. By the grace of God it has worked for you but not everyone is that lucky. The right person should encourage you, support you, and make sure you achieve your heart desires. Even if it doesn’t work out, they should be there to pick you back up. It is selfish that he didn’t give you that choice! A lot of women sacrifice a lot for this marriage thing. Men do not compromise. They’ll miss out on that dream woman to chase money & career, you’re your own person & didn’t come to this world with him. I am strongly against young marriage because I believe you should be your own woman, not saying you have to be rich & successful. Things I found out about myself at 27 (trauma/triggers) if I had married at 21, I would have caused problems! You should know yourself before embarking on a life long commitment like that. But it’s your life and you know what’s best for you. Btw great video though😅

Life is soo mysterious and we always wonder about the path that we never took. There are no guarantees. The most important thing is to be in tune with yourself and God(if that's your belief system) Whatever decision you make, own it with your full chest and whatever comes with it. There is always an opportunity cost for every choice and you can never know where "The Road not Taken" would have led you. You can only speculate.

I love her but it's wrong to say older single women cry at night. Marriage isn't compulsory, in fact the Bible says it is better to be unmarried. Marriage isn't a destination everyone must get to. Also, choosing a man over your career can be very disastrous even if he's a good man, people pretend while courting and they change after marriage so you can never tell how the marriage will turn out. Thank God it works well for her.
