Most of the Club Kids were really condescending in a way. Nelson Sullivan was their mentor but they act as if he didn't do anything for them. Nelson was the one who put them in the spotlight and helped them through the life of NY. I wouldn't be surprised if they are still ungrateful.
@NXSProductions9 жыл бұрын
+candycane520 Nelson was well-loved by all of the Club Kids and it was said that "If Nelson Sullivan wasn't at the same party as you, you were at the wrong party." Nelson's status has been solidified as him being the visionary and the world's first analog vlogger.
@NXSProductions8 жыл бұрын
***** I think the correct phrase you were going for was "They became victims of their own *excesses*." That said, though, many of the Club Kids went on to lead successful lives. Even as Nelson died, he was drug free and had been for years.

It's just a question you guys, AIDS was an incredibly huge undeniable part of 1980s NYC, and especially in this scene/culture. The Village artist I was and am allowed me privy knowledge to all doings of the Village while we all worked hard on our craft. Nelson's craft? Being a new videographer. Yes, he was a privileged man about town but he gave it all away. Does that make you an artist?, maybe, but surely a master chronicler. His brother died in March 17, of natural causes, Nelson introduced me to him and we spent a lot of time together in a surrounding more appropriate to Nelson's background. I just wish I had painted everyone's portrait. I sit in front of an easel painting flesh but for sale.

You knew Nelson? How great! These videos are new to me, so Im just discovering this interesting life he had. Such a shame he isn't still around. Is Eddie still around? What about the rest of regulars in his videos such as Lahoma, Trade, Liz, Albert, etc. Would love updates on them

During the 1977 blackout of new york, a dog was wandering around on nelsons porch, he liked the dog and kept him as a pet, hence the dogs name blackout

Nelson could have changed so much about that scene had he been around longer. I feel he was a Guardian Angel to All. But I wasn't there who knows.

Oh wow...happy B-day to Nelson! Yeah, Ive always wondered what happened to all of those guys. Saw Lahoma in 2005-06 in Rupauls film Starbooty. Did you attend Nelson's funeral?...was he buried in NYC or back in his hometown? Such an amazing guy he seemed to be...the inventor of vlogging!

@@dennybenz5846 I believe Blackout died 6 months later. He was not well taken care of by the "friends"...
