Evitaron hablar del gallardo almirante español mejor conocido como "Churruca" que con mucha hidalguía, coraje, valentía, y honor enfrentó al almirante Nelson perdiendo como él también su vida (0:47) y (7:41). ⤵ They avoided talking about the gallant spanish admiral better known as "Churruca" who with great chivalry, courage, bravery, and honor faced Admiral Nelson losing his life as well (0:47) and (7:41).

No lo evité, pero en estos pequeños videos no hay tiempo de hablar de todos los grandes militares que participaron en estas batallas. La flota española estaba llena de grandes marineros. Gracias por tu comentario Cinéfilo. I did not avoid it, but in these short videos there is no time to talk about all the great soldiers who participated in these battles. The Spanish fleet was full of great sailors. Thanks for your comment Cinephile.

This is an interesting fact, of which I was unaware. But what was the Spanish motivation at Trafalgar? Were the Spanish so dedicated to France so as to die for them? I doubt this. Napoleon had conquered Spain, & didn't care about anyone else except himself & France. Villeneuve was his right-hand man so to speak. But not Churruca.

I understand that the majority of crew etc. were probably English but surely the Royal Navy is a British Navy. Important to distinguish this Important point. English and British are not the same thing!
@historyandgames2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you Jhon, if at any point in the narration I confuse these two terms, please forgive me. All English are British, but not all British are English. The Royal Navy is a British fleet.👍👍
@missasinenomine2 жыл бұрын
This is true. But most of the seamen came from English ports, Portsmouth, Chatham, etc, some of whom were press ganged into service, so while there may well have been Scots, Welsh & Irish(?) among them, probably most of them were English.

If people are going to submit what should be informative mini documentaries for God's sake know what you are talking about. It's Horatio Nelson NOT Horace!!
@historyandgames2 жыл бұрын
Dear Gary. If at some point in the video we have put "Horace" instead of "Horatio" it is a transcription error, since as you point out the name of the great English admiral is "Horatio Nelson". We encourage you to continue watching our videos and report more possible errors. Thank you very much.👍👍👍

Good for TW sea battle but certainly not Trafalgar as titled.
@missasinenomine2 жыл бұрын
There's lots of action, but the battle plan isn't explained. You need to use some diagrams to show the ship's position at various stages of the battle, otherwise one can't see what is happening. The music is rather tedious & repetitive.
@historyandgames2 жыл бұрын
Hello missasinenomine, thanks for your advice, but with these videos I intend to make a brief summary of how the action was in the battle, it is not a documentary about all the details that happened. I appreciate your suggestions and I will try to take them into account for the next videos.👍👍👍

@@historyandgames Yes, I understand that. But I had no idea what was happening in terms of strategy. Lots of scenes of ships firing & smashing each other up, with commentary that some Spanish ships had disobeyed orders, & that some French ships had returned to port, but no diagrams to show their positions, & how the battle was progressing strategically. Only a commentary that the English had won an overwhelming victory. But why? Why hadn't the French & Spanish sunk or damaged any English ships? Why was the battle so one-sided? This was the reason I watched the video in the first place.
@missasinenomine2 жыл бұрын
I know that Nelson led the English ships in a line at 90' to the French ships, & cut them in half so to speak. But I don't know why the Victory came to be so entangled with another French ship if that was the case, with hand to hand fighting, & of course the sharpshooter at close proximity who finally did Nelson in. I would have thought that Nelson would have kept the Victory at some distance, pounding the French ships with cannon, but staying out of each of close fighting. One wouldn't have expected Napoleon to have engaged in hand to hand combat on the battle field. Also, even though the French & Spanish flotilla was bisected by the English, there would still have been a lot of them to inflict severe damage on the English ships. So my question is why the battle was so one-sided, & how much damage was there to Nelson's fleet in reality. Expressions such as "decisive victory", or "overwhelming" are too vague, & don't tell the whole story. Hundreds of English sailors must have been killed & wounded. Not only Horatio.
