this man was in the moment AND ahead of his time at the same time. amazing. easily one of my favorite channels on youtube, love his documentation of 80's NY, shame he died at the dawn of a new decade, would have loved to see how the early 90's would have been documented. grateful for this channel and his videos, I'm hooked, feels like I know him personally and yet it's sad he's no longer with us.

What is refreshing and unique for these videos is that no where will you hear anything political or causing you to choose up sides or causing anger. It's all about friendship, love and the humanity of people. Today is all violence, hatred and bitterness...

that's because it's before cable news which was designed to get us all hating each other and livid. humans are designed to respond to strong emotions and become addicted whether it be love or hate. in turn we were weakened which makes us better consumers for the b.s. they are selling thru the commercials. it's a big circle and it's a science and they know exactly what they're doing.

Kristen BbgO no kidding I'm from Atlanta where Ted Turner started it. the point is you had one maybe two until by 90s it grew and now there's like 50 channels telling you to hate the other side. it's very biased in case you didn't know and decisive. no longer news mostly opinion.

RIGHT, BECAUSE WE'VE HAD GLOBALIST PUPPETS IN OFFICE FOR THE PAST 60 YEARS. A NATIONALIST COMES ALONG IN THE FORM OF TRUMP AND THE ESTABLISHMENT MEDIA CAUSED A DIVIDE. WE CAN ALWAYS GO BACK TO PRETENDING TO BE BLIND TO IT & ALLOWING THEM TO CONTINUE TO DESTROY & SELL OUR COUNTRY OUT.

nelson could’ve never imagined that his videos would be on a thing called youtube. imagine explaining that 30 years later we’d be able to watch all his movies on little devices that fit on our pocket. he’d also be sad at what happened to new york in the past 20 years. nelson is immortal through these. he’ll never die.

Nelson was such a sweet soul, so kind and considerate of others. He's also quite a handsome man, and I just love his hair. I so wish that you didn't have to leave this world at such a young age; what would you have thought or had to say about the current state of this crazy world. You're a diamond in the sky, Nelson Sullivan.

I was 6 years old when this was filmed. I miss that time but for a kid it seemed normal . Only looking back dose it bring the nostaligia , it's all vague now but the one thing I I definetly remember is the major difference in how people communicate that is ,people had conversations with each other not knowing when theyd see them again , there was no cell phone full of pics or social media so you spoke with more honesty maybe ? Something like that ..there was no electronic internet world it was just every day for what you saw around you or TV, people seemed more genuine .

@@teeniebeenie8774 No - passed in early 2000's. Irony - found an old article where the owners were lamenting the "changing neighborhood/yuppies" when they were closing in late 99/2000. Fast forward to 2020 and the NYT features a lengthy article by celebrity chef writer Gabrielle Hamilton lamenting the closing of her upscale/precious restaurant Prune due to covid etc. - . Prune opened around 99/2000 - HA! "There was no place around - some Polish places..." she says going on about how she is "Old School". Prune was exactly the kind of place that drove out the Old NYC and the Kiev - and neither she nor the gushing commenters realized the irony. Food was probably great - never would want to grab a quick breakfast there!
