To be honest Grant, if it hadn’t been for Nembrini coming along when they did, I probably wouldn’t have stuck with iOS. And for me, they continue to lead the way in terms of guitar plugin quality.

Good overview I have all the Nembrini ios amp sims and these two are used the most because they can dial in some many tones.

Hi! And thank you for watching! Yes I’ve tried Overloud THU and I think it’s great. Beats the crap out of bias. I haven’t made any purchases in it though because I have a lot of other guitar software now, I really don’t need it. I recorded in a studio that had the full thing though and yeah, very impressive.

A great overview, Jamie, and fantastic tones too! I am not much of a gear-head (technically speaking) but I do own just about all of the Nembrini apps on iOS, which I tend to go for when I want to rock (cleanish or dirty) - although I still love 20th Anniversary Amp for my Strat when I want more ambient tones. I notice that the landscape may be changing slightly with the availability of more modelled apps (and pedal) like Tonex and the free Neural Amp Modeller (on desktop at least). I am also quite impressed with the amount of guitar tones/amps etc. available in Logic Pro which I am starting to use more as I learn how to use it on my Mac mini M2.

Hey Colin! I’m not a Logic Pro user but have heard good things. On desktop I’m a Cubase guy. The amps that come with Cubase are ok but I’m building up a collection of Nembrini stuff to go with Amplitube 5 Max, ToneX, Guitar Rig, Rhino, Stark, Mammoth and Gorilla - plus the guitar modules Rob Jackson made for Voltage Modular and honestly, I’m stunned with how good all this stuff is getting. I don’t really ever even think about using an amp mic’d up anymore, it’s really not necessary. I’ve also stopped buying pedals 😂 which I never thought would happen! I agree about 20th century amp. For a gorgeous clean guitar tone on iOS it really is outstanding. iOS may be a way off catching up with desktop for choice but it is a different world than when I first started down this path.

Thanks Jamie. I wonder how well these would go with Riffer? As a non-guitar player, is there one you think might be better suited to that over the other. They both sound great but I don't think I need both, so I'm after a factor that might push one in front. Right now I'm thinking the MP1. You went a bit Extreme around the 12min mark. Hope you are all well in Hippieland.

Hi Elwaves. I have a slight problem answering that as I don’t have riffer. I don’t need it. If I had to choose personally. I’d say MP1 Pro because it has a brighter sound overall and I prefer the uppy downy knobs over the turntable knob on the JMP. All super good here - hope all is well with you. @@JamieMallender Cheers for the reply Jamie. It makes sense that you don't need Riffer and after your video, my thoughts were going towards the MP1 as well. Good to know we think along the same lines. It's good here, just waiting on the arrival of parts to upgrade my PC.

PC upgrades are my worst nightmare. I hate it. I just like it when it works and then I use it to death until we reach a point where it becomes apparent that the software is overtaking the hardware again. It’s kind of a non-stop cycle

@@JamieMallender They can definitely be trouble. My RAM upgrade is today and that has the potential for the most issues. Tomorow is my graphics card but they are usually quite painless. You just have to o things in the correct order. Fingers and toes crossed.
