Honestly if people kept constantly barging into my room and interrupting what I see as private time with my partner, I wouldn't be nearly as generous as he's being to Mel. And he does seem to legitimately wish his would be suitors (real or interpreted) well - not like he can blame them for falling for him after all. Even his bouts of rudeness seem to be more about him being either too airheaded to realize he's insulted someone, or fed up and frustrated with the perceived interruptions, rather than actual ill intent.

So for people who dont know, Narcissist was vain man who payed no mind to a woman who loved him, so the gods cursed him to fall in love with his own reflection which is something that would never reciprocate love in turn.

He literally told a guy to kill himself because he was too ugly. Dude was just an asshole and the gods got tired of his shit

I feel kinda bad for him. If I remember right he just liked himself a lot and didn’t pay attention to his suitors. Considering what a lot of greek characters do to women this guy who just ignores them seems like a saint.

The version of the myth i read is that he turned his suitors down so brutally that they killed themselves, but i guess thats still better than encountering zeus for women in greek myth.

@@toucansu That's not really his fault. The gods cursing him (in some versions) is a bit stupid. Those people who killed themselves should have had a better grasp on their mental healths after being turned down by someone they love

One of his suitors was Echo , the poor girl could only repeat the words of other people , and Narcisus still brutally dismissed her and she was forced to repeat all of his insults directed to her and he laughted off. The only thing Nemesis did was curse him to not be loved by the one he would fall in love with , in short , receive the same brutal dismissiveness that he had done to others....but he was so self-absorbed that he had fallen in love to his own reflection. His fate was 100% karmic.
