Agree, it's a bad idea. A lot of people either don't want to back a 'backer's game' or will opt out if their preferred design doesn't win.

Looks like it could have been done as a straight-up expansion, not seeing much different from the base game to justify a stand alone. I'll stick with the original.

Yes I agree. Really too bad that I as a backer of the original will have to pay for the same card stands, likely many of the same serious wound cards, item cards, tokens, etc. Hoped they would have included an “expansion pack” for returning backers only providing new stuff not in the original game.
