You own a copy of the Nemesis board game and want to paint all the minis fast and easy? I painted all Nemesis Intruders in 9 hours and in this miniature painting tutorial I will show you how to do it yourself.
Hi, my name is Mateusz Jakubiuk and this is the first video of the miniature painting series. In the Nemesis (by Awaken Realms) series, I will focus on more basic skills and show you how to paint your miniatures to a good tabletop standard.
You might also find something interesting if you are looking for speed painting Nemesis or just learn how to paint board game miniatures or wargaming armies.

Just picked up mini painting a few weeks ago. After practicing on test minis and some of my other board game minis. I'm finally looking to tackle this one. Definitely a bit nervous lol. Just got my new paints in today. Watching this video for ideas. Debating adding some gloss medium to make them look slimy in parts.

@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Septen. This might be very good idea, especially if you won't overdo it. I avoided gloss medium, cause it looks bad on a camera, but on the table it adds some atmosphere. If I can recommend something, try to paint soft tissue glossy first.

@@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 When making the filter, you used matte medium. Should I replace it with the gloss medium then. Or should I make a separate mix later which has the gloss medium? Also, can gloss medium be applied like a gloss varnish? Guessing no on that one. Edit: It did just dawn on me that since I plan on sealing these with matte varnish. I'd loose the gloss from the gloss medium huh? Would it be better to just gloss varnish the finished piece in the areas I want shiny?

Super malowanie! Mam kilka pytań po filmie: 1. Czym mogę zastąpić Daler&Rowney Payne's Grey Ink? Vallejo German Grey byłoby ok? 2. Zamiast mieszanki z Scalecolor Inktensity Red mogę użyć Vallejo Wash Brown albo Citadel Shade - Reikland Fleshshade? Ewentualnie, który wash da podobny efekt? 3. Na końcu mówiłeś o użyciu Matt Varnish - należy pomalować tym całą figurkę? Dzięki za odpowiedź, to będzie moje pierwsze malowanie. :)

Hej. Cieszę się, że się podoba. Odpowiadając na pytania: 1. German Grey jest za szary. Ten ink jest bardziej granatowy. Generalnie poszukaj ciemnoniebieskiej farby. Inku używam głównie ze względu na to, że jest rozwodniony. 2. Wash Brown będzie ok. 3. Generalnie pomaluj wszystko poza elementami, które chcesz, żeby były błyszczące, np ostrza.

Hey there, I really like the outcome and your style for the videos ☺️ I am now planning to paint my intruders similar to yours. Could you please provide some more insight on the color you apply to sharp objects after applying the pink highlights? What color mix do you use? Did you create some kind of wash?
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Laurin! It is an easy part - I used Citadel Runefang steel, but any steel metallic paint will do. One thing to remember is that you shouldn't just use paint straight from the palette, but remove some of it from your brush with a paper towel. The amount you leave is something in the middle between fully loaded brush and "dry-brush" (I'm thinking of the technique here, not a clean brush :p). With that in mind, you will be able to paint super thin lines with the side of your brush, cause the models to have really nice sharp blade details. I hope that is what you had in mind? Or rather you were asking about a green slime?

So finally, today I spent like 6 hours with my girlfriend painting those and it was awesome, gotta finish up the magenta highlights as they turned out a bit too pink for my taste (probably gonna thin magenta a bit and add some more layers) and them add some slime 🤩 Those green stuff world paints are dangerous though. the metal exploded while pushing out a bit (maybe not gently enough), RIP trousers. Also the magenta and ruby red of them were a bit troublesome. Thank you so much for this tutorial, really looking forward painting the other alien races now. This is my first time painting anything 👌

@@n1ru4l Great to hear that! I would love to see the results! I would be very grateful if you send me photos of finished up minis on my Facebook or Instagram. It gives me the motivation to do these videos :) About GSW paints - I had a similar accident with one of their paints. The problem is they have a lot of pigment and it tends to clatter in the cap of the bottle. A lot of mixing is needed, and avoid using strength - if it doesn't work, use a sharp tool to fix the hole on top. This problem also exists in other brands with this kind of bottle (Vallejo, Scale75) to some extend. Also, you can remove the cap, use some kind of rod to mix everything properly, and close it again.

should the mixed colors that serve as filter be like contrast paints? it looks pretty similar to me
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 2 жыл бұрын
It's very similar. Contrasts are a bit thicker, so they od gather a little bit more in the recesses. General idea is the same. I would say that zenithal cost and metallics underneath are more important.

Well, I'm not really can of sets. But for drybrushing get yourself cheap make-up brush, for details Kolynsky sable has no competition, I use Raphael 8404 size 1. For filters and washes - cheapest one you can get, or some really old - this techniques destroy brushes.

For the filter, would it work mixing black and negro blue paints with water to get the same effect? I’m a beginner and making the mix with paint, ink and medium seems a bit intimidating to me at this stage. So trying to replicate the same effect but with an easier construction of the filter.
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889

Hey. I'm pretty sure it won't be the same, but you can try it on a mini, and if you don't like the effect, repaint it (priming and all). It very much depends on your paints, how they are made, how intense (pigmented) they are.

@randomlygeneratedcolors7889
@randomlygeneratedcolors7889 3 жыл бұрын
There are few possibilities. First, if you printed your minis long ago, they might be dirty, i.e with dust. Also, if you played a lot with them, you might wash them in warm water with soap. Second, there is a common problem with some paints sticking to black or just dark primer. I haven't found a good solution yet, but usually letting first, uneven coat dry, and then painting again works. If you paint with brush, you can "smear when in"
@WhiteWinter08
