I noticed that all the Specialist-User-Things can be explained with this. For chrollo’s second requirement. It’s just says he need to be answered by his target, so even if they don’t know about nen they can still answer his questions. Neon did it fine and she didn’t know about nen, you could literally say “I don’t know how I do this”/“I don’t know” and it would still count as long as he asked about the ability. So yes he could still steal komugi ability.

Komugis ability isn’t necessarily nen. We know that ai is a gaseous monster from an unknown land. It’s ability to alter reality could be a biproduct of what it is, kinda like how Superman in a yellow sun has super powers.

This. The requerement is to ask about nen or nen ability. Doesnt specify it MUST be encyclopedic knowledge. If somebody calls it voodoo then its immune to skillhunter? No. Could be a mistranslaton, but Chrolo only need to ask about something related to that skill to understand it better. Yet this is HxH... keeping your ultimate ability a secret is a must survival. If you let the enemy see your hatsu normally you expect one of you to be dead. Chrollo would find out Komugis nen quite fast. The same way Meruem found it out. He became aware that Komugi is rapidly growing because of her own oath, aka if I'm ever beaten, I die... In jujutsu kaisen skillhunter would be easy, since letting the enemy known about your cursed technique would make them think about the consequence of it, amplifying the effect...

The problem is komugi is completely unaware of her nen usage… she just thinks she’s good at Gungi. Chrollo would ask her a question and she’d either say “whats an ability?” or “i am good an gungi” and idk if that would fulfill chrollos requirements

@@alexbentele6667 Chrollo was able to gather the context clues from her explanation of her, personally thought of, fortune telling and once she manifested the nen beast he noticed it and filled in the blanks. So I'd think that Komugi could be playing a game with Chrollo and he'd notice her eyes shimmer and infer that there's a nen ability happening. Hell, Meruem was able to notice her ability awakening during their matches so I don't think it's a stretch to think that Chrollo could as well. The rest can be inferred from simple questions that don't necessarily have to mention nen buzzwords.

I am sure though: Its possible but it 'costs extra' to enhance your Effiency. For a Specialist to steal an Enhancement-Ability and use it at not 40% but 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 Percent should be possible. But it costs and doesnt naturally come with 'just stealing'. Like Pizza not automatically having Sauce but you sure can have it together anyway.

Re: nen beasts. The beasts are postmortem nen invoked by the first king, not the current succession war princes so I would think that Chrollo would need to fulfil the conditions with that inital king. Thereby, it would be impossible for him to steal any of the original nen beats.

yeah the beasts feed on the candidates nen but they are not created by them and are only given to them. chrollo might be able to steal the ability to eat the nen beast like that one guy had but that is as far as he can get.

Chrollo hears an explanation of the power to steal so just makes people honorary members of the phantom troupe before using it on them making this all irrelevant.

@@slevinchannel7589 The conditions must balance out the power. More powerful abilities require stricter limits, more difficult activation requirements, or higher costs. "Don't eat salad on your birthday" would not justify Skill Hunter (or anything that required a condition). Skill Hunter's activation requirements make it difficult to use, especially in a fight, where it would be very handy to swipe an opponent's Nen ability. Chrollo has to do something like what he did with Neon - sit down for a talk over dinner or drinks, and during that time, 1) see the target's ability in action 2) ask questions about Nen and receive answers from his target 3) get the target to touch the handprint on his book 4) complete steps 1-3 within an hour Someone hostile to Chrollo/the Phantom Troupe can't be coaxed into such a scenario easily, even if they don't know about these requirements. And then he has to meet the new ability's conditions.

Chrollo's skill hunter is not op. You just need info from his first fight with zeno&silva to know that it is super problematic. It doesn't seal nen, only steals hatsu. That already makes it really weak against emitters and enhancers. Recalling back zeno versus chrollo, zeno immediately concludes that stealing an ability requires that chrollo needs to complete 4 or 5 conditions. Zeno's battle strategy is why chrollo abandoned the objective of sealing their nen abilities. Zeno used his dragon for a long range combat, zeno guessed that an ability such as skill hunter requires hefty risks and a risk for someone who is a specialist is close quarter combat, cause that puts their enhancement category to the test. That is why Chrollo immediately understood that zeno saw through him quickly. No hand combat means no chance for him to fulfill a requirement. The only time Zeno gets to hand combat is when he stops using his hatsu as if he thought that if it gets stolen, at least it'll be stolen in a position where he doesn't need it. Also, the reason why zeno and silva were fine with a strong emissions attack that hits both chrollo and zeno is back to the nen category analysis that zeno had in mind. Him being of emissions category makes his enhancement attribute stronger than someone of the opposite category to enhancement. Chrollo surviving that attack was him using a lot of aura, possibly more than what zeno was using. He collapsed upon them leaving the room. If the fight continued, chrollo would have lost. In HxH, the fights are choreographed so brilliantly, and I'm extremely disheartened that no one makes a video about them.

I absolutely hate it when fanboys say chrollo can defeat 2 seasoned assassins considered as legends. The only reason chrollo even dared to confront them alone has to be because illumi told when he would finish the job and how he surmised that zoldycks would not dare to kill him after illumi has finished his job. This fight would never happen if chrollo never knew for how long he has to stall the zoldycks or if it has to happen, he needs to have feitan or phinks or nobunaga. with him. Those two zoldycks would have gladly and without thinking sacrifice one of them just to complete the contract.

There is no proof that Chrollo would have lost that fight. I agree 2 of the strongest Zoldyck assassins are no joke, but Chrollo was intentionally just stalling. Most importantly, Zeno himself says that Chrollo was holding back the entire time.

Chrollo asked Zeno about 1v1 fight and Zeno said he definitely would win if chrollo was holding back but if chrollo was serious, then the story would be different and that doesn't mean Zeno would have lost but he would most probably die.Forget Silva , Zeno has enough nen and experience to handle chrollo who needs prep time to use his nen at the fullest which is seen in his match vs hisoka. I will say this again, chrollo would not have confronted 2 veteran assassin's who doesn't drag fights alone if he didn't have faith in Zoldycks professionalism. If that phone hadn't rang, Silva would have killed both Zeno and Lucifer.

@@hereticsign That’s your interpretation of Zeno’s words. Neither does the zlodycks nor do we know what abilities are inside of that book. Any character in hunter x hunter would benefit from prep time. Chrollo isn’t reliant on prep time and fighters have to adapt to any situation in a fight because you don’t know what would happen during a fight. If Chrollo wants to kill them then he would’ve used a different ability rather than a blanket that was used for evasion. Also, this wasn’t Silva’s first encounter with Chrollo and it is apparent that neither of them underestimates the other which means a lot!

To your point with the palm . I am pretty sure that when it comes to conditions that they are stretchable . Togashi even elaborated on conditions that should run into certain hiccups but do not and also that nen users are able to augment the rule in the first place . The palm might be more vague then specific when we jump to different creatures here . It could very well be that both is possible . That it doesnt work or that you can stretch the condition so it does . There are also other vagueish things that could be explained as one or the other . P.s.:It is true that skill hunter isnt as broken as people say it is but it is by no means bad . For me its alone the fact that the person cant use their nen ability anymore after the conditions being met that qualifies this nen ability as extremely powerful . sealing the hatsu of your opponent while stealing it is good and all but the sealing part alone is god like .

I am sure though: Its possible but it 'costs extra' to enhance your Effiency. For a Specialist to steal an Enhancement-Ability and use it at not 40% but 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 Percent should be possible. But it costs and doesnt naturally come with 'just stealing'. Like Pizza not automatically having Sauce but you sure can have it together anyway.

I think I can answer the one about Kurapikas Emperor Time. When kurapikas eyes turn scarlet he turns from a conjurer to a specialist (this is a claim made by kurapikas teacher). Due to this new change in aure type, kurapika made a new hatsu, and this was emperor time. Emperor time is a specialist hatsu, however there was no indication that scarlet eye dna was required, just specialist aura. Meaning that chrollo might be able to steal it since its just a hatsu for being a specialist. Thats why kurapika needs his scarlet eyes active. Although I don't know for sure :)

For some of these abilities Chrollo could always try the Ging method of observing and replicating. The Kakin curse squad for example where you have many people using identical hatsu suggests that it can’t be too difficult to learn. Skill Hunter is just a convenient shortcut.

2:54 that technicality doesn't apply. If netero uses a collapsing arm move, he'd be holding him for at least a second, as mereum was able to say something during that move. Sure, chrollo would get knocked out senseless and killed before he can understand what happened, but he can technically steal the ability if netero gave it to him, by using it slowly. One way to do this is if chrollo uses a manipulation hatsu and netero for some reason gets hit with it. Chrollo probably can't ever use netero's ability in real combat because of its restriction. He needs to pray and have a completely calm heart and nen for that ability to activate. In the entire series, not even the Zoldyk's have shown something similar tp netero's ability in having a calm nen. Silva and Zeno require to faint with their nen in order to mask real attacks amongst real ones, while netero's nen is super quiet and doesn't leak out information about which attack he'd choose. Mereum, being a combat strategy genius was incapable of making a reaction on netero's attacks, not even reacting to his nen attack. That level of calmness is indication of how fast netero is at entering a prayer state that far surpasses mereum speed, for chrollo, despite being a nen genius, it could take him the order of seconds, just like the 40 year old netero doing 10 thousand punches of gratitude.

Tsubone is conjunction nen user that morph into vehicle. Down side is need to uses of someone else aura as the rider that how ability will active. Tsubone can't use her ablity alone without an rider. She show case two ablity transform into. Motorcycle and a glider. There five more ablity from her we have not seem yet hopefully when the manga ever return.

@@ishspringer Well, I thought that too at first, but it's explained in the manga that turning your body into something falls under conjuration. That makes sense as conjuration is all about summoning complex items. With manipulation, it would probably be more of a process to transform whereas conjuration is near instant. Or maybe it requires both manipulation and conjuation. Plus, it helps balance the system by making another use for conjuration.

With Netero's 100 Hand Bodhisattva, while it's almost impossible to see the actual construct, isn't the power that would actually hit the person visible even if for only a brief second and thus assuming he didn't immediately die after being hit with the Chairman's ability, couldn't he steal it that way? Obviously, as shown in the clip of Pitou getting nuked with the Chairman's ability, a bright gold flash of light was visible when she got hit, and all the Hands except Zero have to "physically" hit an opponent, so it isn't just emitted power from the statue, it's the statue itself. Am I missing something here cause I'm confused as to how Chrollo can't, at least in theory, steal the 100 Hand.

Not sure if anyone has stated it yet, but something not mentioned in the video, but is at least mentioned in the anime if not the manga, is that Chrollo requires the book to be physically held open in at least one hand for the duration of the ability’s usage. In the case of the desired Hastu requiring both hands to utilize, Chrollo could technically steal it but be physically unable to wield it, since he needs one hand for the bandit’s book

I acutallty had a Theory a while back, that this Type is mis-named and should actually be the 'Absorption-Type'. Hear me out: It started with me thinking about Neon Lestrade and the fact she had a Poetry-Ability without knowing or even caring about 'Deep Stuff', let alone 'Poetry'. I started wondering and comparing all the Specialists we know of. And they all possibly absorb Knowledge to get their Ability working?! I noticed that all the Specialist-User-Things can be explained with this. Pitou literally shows us the Medical Books she read; so the Ability could take the Knowledge out of her and/or of the Books still lying around!

There are abilities that take more that 1h to completely deploy. I don't think those can be stolen. I'm not sure the video said this. For example, Cheetu's tag takes fractionally more than an hour as the timer starts only after he touches the target but the ability starts already from the touch.

I mean, we literally see it all the time: Chrollo conjures a book, Kurapika enhances his Nen-Skill itself, and Neon emits an ugly-as-fluff thing. AT LEAST Neon's existence should blow that Idea to pieces, yeah?

He has to see the ability. If the other conditions are met within 1 hour of the ability ending, I guarantee it would count as he was still witnessing the ability. He didn't suddenly stop witnessing the ability just because it had been active for a while...he was witnessing it the entire time and therefore the hour started only when the witnessing of the ability stopped.

Illumi vs Hisoka, who would win? I've only seen the anime and I know at one part Hisoka threatens Illumi for him wanting to attack Gon and Illumi later threatens Hisoka for wanting to attack Killua. So who do people think would actually win if they did battle?

In a pure 1v1, Illumi stands no chance. Illumi needs people to sacrifice in order to fight well, especially against other nen users. Add on to that the fact that Illumi is mostly experienced in killing people that don't use nen and I don't think he would have any good chance of winning. Now, if they started the fight in a crowd of people...then I don't think Hisoka would stand any amount of a chance. The assassin abilities themselves aren't very strong to experienced nen users.

I might of just figured out an insane hatsu duo for enhancers with equal nen amounts: Person 1: creates hatsu like rasengan or gon’s ja- janken. The restriction is that the hatsu will do only as much damage as a regular humans punch at first, but the more times it hits a human being, the stronger it gets. For example if the user hits someone with the hatsu 100,000 times, the hatsu will be about as strong as gon’s janken ability. Done 50,000,000, it would do as much damage as neteros bodhisattva. Maybe even more. The downside would be finding people to use it on, however: Person two: Uses a body strengthening hatsu, kind of like iron body that cp9 use, and make the hatsu the exact same as the first one, so that the stronger the first hatsu gets, the stronger this one gets. And to make each one even stronger, they can say: until i reach 1,000,000 punches/defenses, if i use the hatsu on anyone else i will die(which would make the ability way stronger). If they spent every day with person one hitting person 2 over and over and person two didn’t take damage because of their hatsu, this could be an insanely dangerous duo in 5 years.
