I paint custom RC bodies and you hit the nail on the head, I use my TRN2 to do base coats and to seal, but I still love my Neo CN and BCN. Still thinking of getting the TRN 1 just so I'll have them all. I started out with cheap Master airbrushes and for the Neo series to not be much different in price, they are a world a way when it comes to the quality you get for the price.

The Neo's are neat little brush's, it's pretty clear that somebody over at Iwata had an great idea, if the cheap Chinese brush's are all Iwata knockoffs and perform well if the buyer polishes them up to Iwata spec, what would happen if Iwata got the Chinese factory to do all that for you. The end result is a Neo, a Chinese Iwata knockoff finished to Iwata spec, with Iwata spec seals and sold by Iwata in between the price of a cheap Chinese brush and Iwata's least expensive in-house production brushes. The buyer gets a deal for a solid brush that doesn't require a bunch of work to get reliable out of the box, but also doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and you can buy parts at the hobby shop/craft store and Iwata gets a sale that would otherwise have gone to that cheap Chinese brush instead.

You did not show how to install the big bottle or how it performs using the big bottle. :-)

Hello, I am new to modeling and airbrushing and have gotten really great info from your site thanks. I am looking at purchasing this type of brush i have the Neo cn great brush as well as a single action badger i use for clear and primer coats. My thinking is that the larger needel would be great for primer coats with more control than the single action.?.

Hi Rory, you'd be better off with a 0.3 or 0.35 needle, which would be better as an all rounder. If you want a trigger airbrush the TRN1 would be a better option - Lee

Would this make painting german camo easier?

Greetings from westOz Lee. I was wondering if a couple of years down the track if you still find the trn2. 0.5 usefully for priming and clear coating or if you found another more suited. I have a . 35 already for detail etc
@InternationalScaleModeller8 жыл бұрын
Hi, tbh I found the needle size a little too large for my liking after awhile. I switched to the TRN1, which has a 0.35 needle and use this for all my base and top coats now :)

International Scale Modeller thanks for taking time to reply very much appreciated. I have trn1 and was having some blocking issues. So I will experiment more with pressure once I am back on my feet.

Coops WA - glad it's not just me. my experience with the trn1 is that it starts spraying fine. but (without letting up on the trigger) it sprays less, and less, until just air is comming out. Tried thinning the paint with vallejo thinner, but I've gotten to the point where it goes on more like water than paint. very frustrating. just ordered the trn2 in the hopes that the bigger needle will help.
@OldManCoops7 жыл бұрын
haSVENhe I have overcome the issue I was having and different brands different solutions. Thinning or pressure. Just took some advantages centre and trial and error to make things flow, so to speak.

I have one on the way for painting R/C airplanes, I'm so glad I went with this big boy rather than the Neo CN and I haven't even tried it yet!

I airbrush custom RC bodies and have this (TRN2), the Neo CN,the Neo BCN, and a few cheap Master brands and this really is a great airbrush,but trust me and get the Neo CN as well,because the TRN2 may be a good feel and can handle thicker viscosity paints,but I still love my Neo CN. I seem to have better detail with the CN.

Just an FYI, but the 30ml plastic bottle is a siphon-feed bottle, NOT gravity feed as you demonstrated. If you look at the cap you'll probably find a small breather hole. You don't want to mount this upside-down when its full of paint. Like you , I like the Neo airbrushes, but I do think the instruction sheets they include are woefully inadequate, particularly for a line of airbrushes aimed at first-time airbrush users.

@Jarhead13134 жыл бұрын
My KKMoon is the reason I got this, it didn't last me 2 months. Maybe I got a bad one who knows, but my TRN2 puts the KKMoon and the Master G77 to shame.
