This has got to be the most comprehensive review for Top Players Golf that I have ever heard. Most reviews just devolve into "it's not as good as Neo Turf Masters," but that's just taking the lazy way out. I think you did the opposite here: cover both games completely, listing pros and cons. Thanks so much man. The unfavorable comparison of Top Player's Golf to Neo Turf Masters is unfair, due to the sizeable gap in their release dates. It's similar to comparing Cyber Lip against Metal Slug. I take the former for what it was worth then and it's a fine golf game. It's not perfect, but still playable and can be enjoyed. Go grab your clubs.

I’m admittedly not a hardcore video golf guy, but yes - both of these are good and very playable. Ultimately, Neo Turf Masters has the reputation it does for valid reasons and wins out. Incredible review/comparison done like only NeoTurboManiac can! 👍👏

Thanks dude! Neo Turf Masters is indeed the superior game, but Top Player's Golf has value. Top Player's Golf takes a lot more practice to get the hang of the nuiances of how the ball travels along or against the wind and how it bounces off the terrain. They were more deliberate with the placement of the sand traps around the green.

Top Players Golf was the game to show your dad to convince him to buy a Neo Geo lol, but now I see it stands on it's own as a cool golf game even against Turf Masters. I like the scaling and voices. Solid man.

As a newcomer to SNK's titles, I am definitely more partial to Big Tournament Golf more then Top Players Golf. I think its likely because of how these games control. Admittedly, I only played TPG a few times, all of which not for long, and part of it is because I wasn't super into how "slow" and "floaty" the game can be. I will admit I did compare it to BTG when I first played it, but considering it was made by a different team and released 6 years prior, I dont think its necessarily fair to compare them. I may not be a fan, but I can appreciate it for being an early Neo Geo title and trying a different way to play I personally haven't seen another golf game do before (even if it hadn't caught on). I at least understand why it's been added to the recent NG classic consoles (MVSX, ASP, Mini). Why BTG isn't included on them, I have no idea.

Thanks for your comment. Yes it isn't fair to compare both titles on an apples to apples basis, given the lengthy gap between their release dates. Top Player's Golf gets the job done as a title for its era. Once in a while I do re-visit it.
