Another very simple mod I would recommend you make for a Neo-Geo AES stick is to add wheel weights. the Neo-Geo AES stick is just a tad bit too light. Wheel weights add in 4 oz per weight, and have adhesive on one side. Putting in eight or even just four of them will add a subtle but satisfying amount of extra weight when using it in your lap.

I can't believe you did all that while you still had the cable stuck in the bottom half of the shell. A hell of a lot easier not having that hanging around in the way!

Hi ! I'ved made the same mod on my Stick ! But I don't put an octogonal gate on mine because this piece is hard to find in France. I love the color you used for your mod, in the same way of originals parts, it's class. I used only black colors for my mod with 35mm Sanwa Balltop (I want to try with bat top one day just to see how it work) and Seimitsu PS14D 24 mm pushbutton full black ! I love Sanwa parts too but ... I love how Seimitsu button works too so ... great with shmup like Aero Fighter 2 or 3 or Last Resort ! I changed the 4 microswitch of the stick with LS32 parts ... and feel very happy to made it ! I love how look your stick ! Great stuff ! Have a nice day, hope you the best.

Hey I picked them up at focusattack.com but it looks like the buttons are out of stock! You may be able to find them elsewhere. They are 24mm Sanwa push in buttons.

Nice informative mod vid. I have a question concerning the joystick wiring. Hopefully, you’ll time & knowledge to assist me. I’m actually working on a NGX controller. My query concerns the joystick & the 5 wires that go it. Of course we have up, down, left & right. My question is where should the 5th wire be attached? I was having an issue moving up. When I disassembled the Stick the 5th wire, which isn’t marked was loose. I couldn’t discern where it was originally soldered. Your assistance would be appreciated, if you can help - Thanks Player 🕹

DeadThumbGamer if none of the controls are working you may have disconnected a ground wire by mistake. I’m not super familiar with the neo Geo x but there should be one wire to each micro switch and then a common ground wire that daisy chains to the other side of all the micro switches. If that doesn’t clear it up send me a picture at [e-mail]

I need to replace my Reset buttom at my AES console and now I know they are the same of the ones at the joystick. Would you sell one just one of those you just replaced please? You can get them on Amazon, eBay or even your local Home Depot or Loews in the electrical isle.

I have 2 sticks on the way so plan to do this. Dont have crimps right now. Could you wrap the bare wires around the button terminal as a temp mod?

Sure! I would just wrap the connections with electrical tape so it doesn’t short anything. Also you don’t need a ratcheting crimper, you can just get a cheap standard crimper from Home Depot . Good luck with the mod, thanks for watching!

@@mike7599 so the 3 ground wires go to one terminal on button A then you get 3 other wires that go from that ground pin to each of the others? So that button has a total of 5 wires attached? (1 on one side and 4 ground)

sorry it’s not super clear in my video. When you go to cut the wires to remove the button pcb you’ll see (it’s labeled) there is a terminal for button A, B,C,D and common. Each terminal has 1 wire going to it except D which has two wires going to it. You’ll take the A wire and put it on one spade terminal of the new button. Then you’ll take the B wire and put it on one side of the B button terminals etc etc. on the D button your going to take the two wires and twist them together so they become one wire. Then Put that on one of the spade terminals on the new D button. As for the ground wires you’ll take the one ground you cut off the the pcb and then make a connection from this to each button on the

Wire the grounds in parallel to each of the free spade terminals remaining on each button. So basically with the exception of the D button you will have only 2 wires to each button. Once you open up your control stick it’ll make more sense what I mean

samuraispiritsx its possible, the main issue is getting the pcb to fit in the case. It MIGHT work.... but I’m not 100% sure. It’s going to be a tight fit for sure

samuraispiritsx you may have better luck with a regular neo geo controller. I’m sure that ps3 one has a lot more components inside of it - meaning even less room to mount the pcb! Good luck keep me posted.

Got my stick all modded. nice and easy. i purchased a daisy chain and the crimps. Far less hassle than soldering and you can swap buttons easier.

@@mike7599 Thanks you a lot :-) Yes if you have this Hrap Hayabusa, I think it's a great mod to do with it because honestly it is bad on Xbox One (only works with Killer Instinct ! I can't play all my Arcade game like ACA Neo Geo or 360 games with it ! A shame !) and no compatible with PC so I think it is a great mod to made it a great Neo Geo stick ! Hayabusa is really nice on Neo Geo games ! Hope you the best.
