Let’s mod the amazing Sega Dreamcast Agetec (Green Goblin) arcade stick! This is my favorite console and quite possibly my favorite arcade stick, especially when modded with Seitmitsu or Sanwa parts. With so many amazing games on the Dreamcast, this is a must-have for collectors and Dreamcast lovers. The best part is I’m giving this away to The Immortal John Hancock - a legend in the retro gaming scene. Subscribe to his channel if you have not already.

Great channel. Anyone who appreciates scalines has to be good! I've never attempted a mod like this, I don't even have the tools yet, but I think I'm going to try it because of your video. My Dreamcast stick is worn out and I've been looking to get a new one, just for casual emulation on PC. I was considering selling mine and buying something cheap but I think this mod would be both much cooler and will teach me a lot of skills I've always wished I'd had. Finally a legit excuse to buy a Dremel and learn soldering! Doesn't matter if ends up more expensive, I'd be paying for the education, not just the stick.

Great video but a word of advice. You can get an exact 30mm stepper drill bit that will give you an exact 30mm hole so you don’t have to be imprecise with the Dremel. I used these stepper drill bits to resize the button holes on my Evel Knievel pinball machine when I updated all the hardware since the old Bally buttons where no longer made. Hope that helps.

Invest in a stepper bit. Trim the metal mounting plate of the new ticks so it fits in the recessed area, better stability and wont weaken the plastic or stretch the screw holes as much over time. I would also just make a new JST cable instead of all those splices.

17:54 I always throw out the yellow guides on Seimitsu joysticks (and the blue on the LS-32 because when they are set on the largest size like you have here, the two corners feel different to the other two corners. On the other side the guide doesn't touch the actuator at all and on the other side they touch the guide. I've eve tried cutting two guides and adding them together so that the actuator touches the yellow guide on all corners but that makes it feel much worse than just getting rid of the guide and using the actual square gate.

just a quick note. I tried installing the original LS-32 not the LS-32-01 and I notice it's slightly bigger by a few millimeters so I'm not able to screw the bottom plate all the way otherwise the bottom of the Joystick drags against the metal plate. Any Ideas?
@Bodega_dASH_Goteem
@Bodega_dASH_Goteem 4 жыл бұрын
Joska Cintron i installed the LS-32-01-SC-K, and had the same issue. I had to dremel down the walls the original stick sat inside of. With this it still dragged on the bottom of the plate. I put clay in those 2 cylinder shaped pillars for weight, but i had to add a slight few millimeters more of clay so it could push against the bottom plate. Sucks cause the clay going farther out then the cylinder pillars means my bottom plate is bending slightly, but thats the only way i got the stick to not drag. After closed it up and it was fine. Shockingly it sealed perfectly, and doesn’t wobble when i leave it on my desk. Its janky, and Im sure the plate is permanently warped; but its better then not having your stick go back to neutral position.

What's that Dremel bit that you used to widen the holes and grind the JLF body? I've been using tungsten carbide tile grout cutting bits for random projects like this. They works well for cutting aluminum and cast iron (I use it for porting small cylinder engines), but they're also pretty skinny and better for detail work so I've been looking for something wider. Try a set of #4 5/8 inch screws. You can get them at your local home depot and they should be open right now :) www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-4-x-5-8-in-Phillips-Pan-Head-Stainless-Steel-Sheet-Metal-Screw-8-Pack-800941/204275391

Where did you get the parts for this mod

@@ScanlineCity what are the specifications for the start button? I took mine apart to clean and the membrane bounced away..so I figured upgrading all the buttons wouldnt be a bad idea. Do you have links you can throw in the description?

Use a DRILL with a 30mm bit. Not a Dremel! A drill will leave a factory look and takes only seconds.
