I love the comanche. But at the same time I have a wife and 3 kids so i would probably have to go with the gladiator for the extra seating. Nah, screw it i'll just get me an old XJ lol

I hope manufacturers brings back smaller size 4wds (size like the cherokee, comanche, tj, land cruiser 40 or 60, old land rover discovery). Todays trucks are too luxury, too expensive, too big.

Also, there was a 1 ton version of the Comanche with heavier duty springs and could hold more than 2,000 lbs in the bed.

One guy down the street from my street has a blue Commanche at his house some times and some times he is out fixing it! It’s a cool truck just old and hard to find! I’ve only seen five this year, and it’s already November, I’ve seen millions of Gladys though!

Release a 2 door Gladiator, Jeep! That blue one in the video looks badass! I love my 92 Comanche, but wont get a new Gladiator unless a 2 door version comes out with at least a 6 foot bed.

Great Video. I feel like the Comanche is the better truck to use for work and daily cause it was designed to be a work truck where as the gladiator is just a wrangler unlimited with a box in the back and inflated price tag to go with it.

Had both - Gladiator is a far more refined vehicle. The only thing I like about the Comanche is that it came with the 4.0 which is a bulletproof engine that is as reliable as any Toyota 4 cylinder. That being said, 3.6 has gotten much better since its introduction. This is the equivalent of comparing the 80’s / 90’s Toyota Pickup with the modern Tacoma.

Some other car youtubers bought the rubicon and the base model version to swap engines with it or turn it into an offroad truck and wrap them camo or purple + what you're comparing is the jt gladiator there was another gladiator and it's the pick up truck version of the jeep wagoneer. Hes not kidding about speed, power and torque.. My first vehicle back in 01 was a 1989 comanche 4x4 with a 5 speed manual 4.0 inline 6 (aka straight 6) high output and it was one of the fastest vehicles ive owned. Most powerful midsize truck ever. Only 6 cylinder more powerful not as fast but more powerful was the 300 inline ford motor they put in full size F100s and 150s. Way more power than a 302 V8.

PS: Include a crotch-level air vent under the steering wheel. It's the best part of the Cherokee/Comanche experience!

Learn from what Ford did with the Mustang. Re-release the Comanche but with modern features. Round the corners off a bit but don't overkill the shape. And make an extended cab and crew cab option.

Dear Jeep, build the two door truck and call it the Wrangler Comanche. Strip it of all of the Wrangler's unnecessary luxury frills and electronic nannies, and price it so an ex-MJ Comanche owner can actually afford it. Vinyl bench seat or buckets, manual transmission, manually shifted 4x4 transfer case, manual door locks and hand-cranked windows. No screens please, no connectivity please, just pure Jeep goodness. I have owned ten Jeep products since the late-1980s but have not considered one since the demise of the TJ. They're now far too fancy, far too complicated and most importantly, far too expensive. Thank you.

There's a reason why many companies, like phone companies that have a high end model, and then a really low end model that is affordable and good enough for a lot of people. Car companies are kinda doing that, as in they have some luxurys and the high end models that are just rolling livingrooms full of tech. They need to bring back the tried and true simple vehicles that have less things to break that much of the population could afford without spending 10 years to pay it off. I have an older cheroke, and it has all the things I need plus a little extra, and it gets me from point A to point B. It's fun to drive with solid axles, and I don't need an infotainment center or heated seats. I know IFS would make a heck of a smoother ride on the road, but my first vehicle being an xj, i love the woble and bouncyness when I'm on a rough road or off road.

1991or1992 Comance is ideal w/ 190hp. 4.0 HO. Also, 1988+ were at least 240ft lbs of torque. My comanche is just a hair over 3,000lbs. Spanked many people who didn't expect it.
