The Spit actually does have differential breaking. The break pressure goes proportionally in the same direction as rudder input in the real aircraft, so if you need right differential breaking, hold break lever then push the right pedal.

I’m currently using OnAir for my career addon for msfs. I’m very much interested in NF4 due to the skydiving and firefighting, and banner towing missions. Are what I’m interested in… can you advance to bigger planes by only flying freelance missions?

Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question... The freelance mode isn't a career mode so much as just a mission generator.. So in freelance there really isn't a progression. The reason they put that mode in was to accommodate people who, for instance, just want to fly heavies, and didn't want to start from single engine piston. So, in freelance you just grab a plane, and Neofly comes up with somewhere for you to fly that plane to. The pay is minimal because freelance isn't a career, you don't need money or XP to fly anything you want, so there is no reason to pay you to do it. So the short answer is, there is no real progression in freelance. However in career mode you do start from small and work your way up to bigger if you want to do that.. And you can do freelance with your career mode pilot.. So for instance you're working your way up from singles, but you're sick of flying small planes, you can for sure do a freelance any time you like. But to keep things reasonable on your progression in career the Freelance doesn't really move your career... Obviously that would be kind of over-powered... Why work your way up if you could just skip it?

Would love a campaign/career playthrough of NF4. In between missions is time to discuss strategy and what you are planning on accomplishing for the flight but the flight itself could easily be done at a high speed timelapse so the viewer isn't sitting there watching 2 hours of empty flying or even worse - 2 hours of you trying to fill the void by having to talk the whole time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm toying with ideas of using timelapse, vs cuts. which one to use really depends on the video. I'm WAY too boring to fill even a 20 minute flight with good banter. But thanks for believing I could!

Nice, thanks. I've been using NF since 2020. I think what would be a useful video would be showing the benefits of AI pilots, hubs and managers in action over a short flight or flights. I've started doing this and made some money, but I dont think its very clear what benefits there are to the above, or how to actaully utitlise them properly. I know you went over it in your last video, but seeing it in action would be good.

I don't think there are, that would be a cool suggestion to make over on the NF discord. Seems like it wouldn't be any harder for them to implement than any other cargo type (beats me tho, not my program 😉) Sometimes its a shame that MSFS is absolutely against any kind of weaponry in the sim, because if that could be added you could have Military transport missions that require spiral down approaches etc and if you get out side the safe descent you risk getting shot down, etc. But not gonna happen in MSFS anyhow...

Hey Kurt! I want to say that I think your NeoFly videos are getting so much attention because there aren't many on KZbin, and the majority of the NF videos on KZbin are for older versions. I have a question for you regarding NeoFly. In your opinion what is the best way to get XP in NeoFly? That might be a decent topic to cover. What I do is set it to the highest XP mission but with the shortest fly time. Any tips on that? Thanks for all the time you spend on this, and the for the tips!

Oh, I don't spend that much time on it, thats why the videos are 3 weeks apart! 😉 That's actually a good topic idea and an area a lot of folks get confused about... ProTip... Flight time is the majority of your XP per mission. You earn x number of XP per minute flight time. I think it is around 3 per minute, but don't quote me there. It might have modifiers on it. So sometimes doing a little longer duration can pay big xp rewards.

@@kurtvwSims Ohh nice! I didn't realize flight time gave XP. Very interesting. Thank you for the tip! I actually don't mind the longer missions and even like them. But I had been doing shorts ones thinking it was a better way to maximize XP gain. Much appreciated!

There are some who argue that if you're doing many small missions you can get faster XP, but you'd have to be doing flights shorter than about 10 minutes I think, and thats a pace that seems hard to maintain.. I'm not the kind of person that maps that sort of stuff out on a spreadsheet, so I really don't know. For me I feel like I do best with missions that have about 45 to 60 mins. That way I get good xp, but it doesn't feel like a 'long' flight.
