The first "True Hero" (2005-06) footage was back when the Superhero/electricity powers concept was not thought of yet, the idea was that the protagonist would use guns or weapons around the environment, physics based combat and The Reapers were ment as the main antagonists, being mere drug dealers and chain gangers controlling the city in a crime wave wearing gang colors rather then just anarchists spewing sludge. There was also environment mechanics like cars, restraunts and other shops with people reacting to decisions by the player but the people in the studio did not like the idea because it seemed kinda boring and other games did the same stuff, and a designer said "Why not make him have super powers?" As a joke, and they went with the idea. They added Telekinisis until just adapting Lighting because they wanted to optimize their engine for it until then and then moved it to another character later on. Including they were using early PS3 Devkits for testing, and mabye PS2 Devkits due to the console not yet releasing yet and they were kinda expensive to get.

Back in the day, I used to work for this indie game company called Mind Engine Games. We were developing a game called Hero Zero, the main character had an outfit exactly like Prototype, he had nano powers that allowed him to turn his hands into different weapons. He was fighting against a shadowy organization in an urban environment. We did a demo and everything. Then this Prototype game came out of nowhere after the project stalled.

I love the hoverboard and dirtbike parkour so much. The Hoverboard reminds me of Jak 2's hoverboard mechanic. Thats all i wish they carried over to the final game personally because as fun as infamous and infamous 2 is I would have loved a way to reach a higher velocity in that game that doesnt require the hopping on a train or a wire.
