@@yuval_6999 agreed, video has little bit of bias, but holds mostly true. The main issues is the bad design of the base game - I noticed it right away on my 1st playthrough. The sense of urgency really mucks things up in an epic story. I know they tried to do like W1 and their plot but in that one it made senses as the villain required time to slowly advances its villain agenda. So you still had a sense of urgency but not overly pressured to finish ASAP. Speaking of W1, I still hold it as the better game especially how it handles the White Frost (making it a natural occurrence at the end of time space and not an actual antagonistic force) Also why Hearts of Stone and Blood and WIne play more like W1 - play out better Because of this sense of urgency a lot of Book Geralt choices get curb stomped by the senes of urgency of saving Ciri.

I haven't watched the show but the games are damn good so I'd definitely suggest at least watching a playthrough of the story I've also heard they're a lot closer to the books which I've heard fairly positive things about so I dunno might be more worth it to look into other Witcher related media especially since they're recasting Geralt in the show.
@Gnossiene369 Жыл бұрын
If you like the game, or the books. You won't like the show, or vice versa, at least most likely. The only relevance at this point is literally Geralt. And they are replacing the actor, who literally pushed for this show to happen. They are completely separate things at this point. One is a badly written fan fiction for horny teenage girls or "woke" generic and biased people. The other is... well the reason it was made, and it's in itself it's own thing, and beloved for what it is, not for what it can be used for. I'm not just here trying to shut you down. I'm giving you a heads up that you will not find anything similiar outside of Geralt. Jaskier literally hooked up with medieval fantasy hitler. The Wild hunt makes no sense, and No character does what they would in the books or the game. It's very bizarre. So if you can managed to tolerate the extreme twists and changes made, good for you.

The video is amazing, loved every second of it, and almost three hours went by like a couple of minutes - very much alike to the actual game. Your Witcher content is absolutely top-notch, and I would love to see more of it should you have time and inspiration to continue this series. Thank you!

Your breakdown of the “Evil Spirit of Velen” conflict actually makes a lot of sense. I was working off the benefit of hindsight so I knew that to save the kids you had to free the spirit. But I forgot that this thing has murdered plenty of innocent people and has little to prove it’s claims that remain unconfirmed until you see the consequences yourself. I like the ending of the Baron hanging himself and Anna dying more since it feels very thematically appropriate but the sight of villagers being terrorized by monster after freeing the spirit kinda confirms it’s claims of being a Druid is horseshit.
@too_s0ber910 Жыл бұрын
I was always torn about the best ending for the Baron. TBH, them both dying feels... somehow appropriate, because once you take in the ENTIRE story of the Baron and his wife, they are both horrid people. Personally I am SLIGHTLY more on the Baron's side because I can't stand cheaters, but that doesn't mean I approve of beating one's wife either. I think there's only a slight redemption in their daughter Tamara, but she's taken "comfort" in the eternal fire, which... well, we all know how THEY operate. I can only hope that she wises up after seeing what they do. Now that I think of it, the only innocent person in that family is Dea (the botchling).

@@too_s0ber910 Well I got the feeling deep inside the Baron wants to be better. Just see how he gave a random girl abandoned by her parents a new home, for nothing in return.
@too_s0ber910 Жыл бұрын
@@dr.vikyll7466 A very valid point, and that's why I'm more on his side than Ana's. He is actually remorseful for what he's done. But that doesn't really excuse his part in the abusive relationship.

Yep, players can choose whatever team they want, but "canon" Geralt is definitly on team Yen.

The right choice.
@mehmetbayrak6126 Жыл бұрын
Canon Geralt was under the control of Yennefer. He was obsessed with their full-on argument and toxic relationship. Healthy people would never consider the Geralt-Yen relationship to be love. But if book Geralt understood how toxic their relationship is, he would break the spell and choose a woman who had fallen in love with him for 20+ years. Also, after he chose Triss, he clearly says that his relationship with Yen was toxic and that HE ALWAYS LOVED TRISS, NOT YEN. "wanted to be with you, before, during, after, and always." So, yes, players can choose whatever they want. But there is no such thing canon Geralt would choose Yennefer.

Yen is no where near a healthy choice. I chose yen on my playthrough but regretted it after getting to know tries and see how she cares for others and always gets her hands dirty whereas yen is all about herself and getting others to do her dirty work and won't even climb cause she avoids getting dirty or using effort.
@liluziintrovert Жыл бұрын
@@mehmetbayrak6126multiple times people bring up the whole toxicity between the relationship and geralt comments that he likes yen because he reminds him of the fact that he’s always on the path and is never settled down. And yes it is toxic absolutely, but Geralt chooses Yen

Thank you for this amazing and high quality video. Thank you for the amount of time dedicated to this project. It definitely worth the time. It's wonderful how we still can learn new things about The Witcher 3 and it's been 8 years since released. Hope you can do that video of the Witcher contracts but I'll understand that could take a lot of time and you need to rest. You have a fan here in Mexico waiting for your content 💙🇲🇽.

Love the switch to Fergus when mentioning the lack of competence😂 I never thought about Triss being in full control with the Menge scene, such a good angle. The scene with Junior is one of the most intense ones in the game for me, the exhaustion and shock and anger Geralt feels in that moment are so well portrayed. 100% agree that there is no way Geralt would let him stay alive not only for Ciri but also for the threat he poses to any woman. Completely agree that the third act is so rushed. It has some amazing scenes but I remember questioning on the first playthrough if I really did all the quests. Thescene with Sile was surprisinglyvery emotional. But I liked it. Also would agree that Geralt would go with Xiri to the lodge. Though the scene in which Geralt and Yen are spying is quite cute, I definetly think it's more natural that he offers to go with her especially with Philippa being involved. All in all great summary of Geralt's choices, really enjoyed watching it and would definetly love to see more videos like this but also get that's it requires an insane amout of work
@mggaming968 Жыл бұрын
Geralt always gives me protective Papa Bear vibes, but he never felt overprotective to me so it makes sense in my opinion that he offers Ciri to accompany her but also would be fine with her going alone. Which in general is why to me it feels like he would always want to make sure that Ciri knows as much about a situation as possible (Emhyr's true agenda, what Phillipa is actually like...) before she makes **her** own choice. He knows that Ciri went through more than what most people will experience over their lifetime so controlling her choices just becomes absurd as she clearly isn't a helpless idiot.

I could barely finish the mission with Triss being tortured... I couldn't bare to hear the screams. And seeing the blood on her hands after made me glad i sliced Menge to bits.

Excellent job, as someone in video production I know that every video you create (and truly care about) becomes a passion project and that really came through in this video. No corners cut here, you did an excellent job! Replaced or someone can go and read more about your production process? The s software you use, how you lay in the VO, etc.

It took me three days to get through this video, because I wanted to have time to focus and really enjoy it. Very worthwhile! I echo all the positive things I’ve seen in the comments already. Plus I love your deadpan delivery of some comedic points. “You must be doing a ‘bad choices’ playthrough.” Fabulous work, and I hope you are favored by the almighty algorithm!

Video Very Good!!! Seriously though, I love the interaction of someone informed about the books with the game. The books are so amazing and they don’t get enough youtube press, of great quality, since the games are so much more popular and visually stimulating.

This isn't what this video is about, but the summary you gave of the story was amazing! It's been more than 6 years since I last played The Witcher 3, so my memory of the main quest and the lore-accurate sidequests Geralt would do was a little hazy. Having the story retold in this format with added information from the books and previous games etc. made me gain a whole new appreciation for the game. Like damn the story up until the last parts of the game is way better than I remembered! Thank you for the video!

Amazing analysis! While it’s a shame to think Geralt would miss out on things such as assassinating Radovid and seeing Letho again (especially after your compelling argument that Geralt would definitely save him) I loved the breakdown of reasoning you gave as to each choice. I’d love to do a playthroughs mirroring these choices to experience how they play out in real time. I really hope this video does well for you because it absolutely deserves all the fan attention, and I definitely want to see at least a “WWGD” video on the two expansions, if not soon then hopefully later on down the road. In general I love the content and hope to continue to see more, whether is long analyses like this or otherwise!

Thanks so much for this video! There really are two perspectives you could have gone with: what would Geralt do in the moment or what would Geralt do in this situation. Doing the in the moment one was totally legit, however that also made us miss out on the some super cool side quests. Would love to see that coverage as well! Great job!

I'm glad you did this because it was eye opening for me. I am a naïve player and jump at the chance of helping anyone whom I come across. Example, I was so shocked by the gruesome death of Annabelle that I completely dismissed the queues that she wasn't being completely honest. Great video! Joy to watch!
