This is a bit off topic, but I wonder if Detlaff knew that he was within arms reach of his 5th and final victim at Orianna's party. Also the writers made a mistake when Anna Henrietta said that Detlaff sat at her table, they were at Orianna's estate.

I still refuse to believe the books' reasoning for why Emhyr wanted Ciri. It makes no logical sense at all, she is already of his bloodline, any child she has will always be of his blood. TW3's reason makes much more sense, ie to have her as his heir.

You make a really good point about how the urgency of the main quest leaves no room to do any sidequests beforehand. If a game has side content that can expire then it should create a natural pause in the main quest where this side content makes sense. In the case of The Warble of a Smitten Knight all they had to do was have Guillaume clearly indicate that he suspects Vivienne is cursed and it would give Geralt a reason to investigate.

I definitely sympathize with Syanna's motives, but her methods were reprehensible. Detlaff worshipped the ground she walked on; she could have easily just been honest from the jump and told him about the 4 knights who abused her, cut her losses with the duchess, and had her revenge, instead of manipulating someone she KNOWS is emotionally volatile and capable of killing innocent people in a violent rage.

@@Tea_Noire But telling the truth also reveal that Syanna ran away from Detlaff instead of feeding his belief that she was kidnapped and she doesn't want to get back with him. @Jenna_Talia

Exactly. I knew that'd be a point of contention when opening the video. But Geralt's written as a staunch supporter of the theory that the black sun curse just is not real, or he at least interrogates people who think nature trumps nurture. He'd be sympathetic to Syanna. Especially after having accounts from people that explain her evil acts aren't born from nothing, and she was cruelly mistreated by the people who she killed.

Yeah, just a short dodge like "Why does it matter, I have already been caught and I doubt Detlaph will be willing to work with me again even if you spare him" would work as a dodge and something that Geralt might accept because as far as he and even Sianna are aware she has lost the tools to finish her plan. Sianna probably didn't expect the Dutchess to still be naieve enough to be in such a vulnerable position right in front of her and Geralt had no idea that the single person Sianna would have a slight chance to murder was her last target

It is extremely satisfying to see someone understand a game's history, characters and world so thoroughly, while cracking a few actually funny jokes.

One of the best editors on youtube and I'm lucky enough to have them focus on my favorite game of all time. Great vid per usual. Gonna miss these WWGD vids. That is until Witcher 4 comes out. I have a sneaking suspicion it's gonna be create your own witcher though so we might need a re-tool.

I love the way you reasoned out how Geralt would make the choices for the “good” ending of BaW. I’ve seen a lot of ppl comment how they feel the good ending is too clean for a Witcher story, and how they feel any ending that has both Syanna and Detlaff die are the more appropriate ones. I like how the good ending of BaW wraps up Geralt’s journey in these games, it feels like good closure for him after all the decades spent on the path. So I feel vindicated in your analysis of the WWGD choices, and I thank you immensely for your time put into this series. It’s plain to see what a huge undertaking it was, and I admire how you never cut any corner when making these. So now, just like Geralt, you can finally hang up your steel and silver swords in peace.
