Awesome work! Looks like you have the grain of the wood horizontal, if you put the grain vertical it will be stronger.
@Neon_Sandbox7 жыл бұрын
The wood plate is actually two pieces of one inch thick Maple bonded together with epoxy and the grain is turned 90 degrees to each other. Gives it strength in both directions.

Neon Sandbox Oh didn't see that. That will be real strong!

Good work! Did you attach a torsion spring to your jack plate yet? If so will you share it?
@Neon_Sandbox7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Edward. I haven't attached the springs yet but when I do I will certainly post a video.

one last ? what is the location of the 1/4 hole on the top swing arms for the bolt to hold the locking arms. 1/2 on center about 4 " ??
@Neon_Sandbox8 жыл бұрын
+Grizz Reaper I think it was more like 3". I didn't want the locking arms to be too vertical or to horizontal, if that make any sense. An angle that allowed close to a straight pull on the locking bars without too much force forward or aft.

+Neon Sandbox ok perfect was hard to tell by eyeballing it lol

Nice job.

is the length and the holes drilled on the locking bars same as the other eight swing arms . i know the locking part varies.

+Grizz Reaper Yes, they're identical

+Neon Sandbox and thats now not know lol

+Grizz Reaper Still haven't found the right torsion springs. There seems to be a science to figure out the right kind and I'm no scientist.

Aluminum? I'm assuming you're using this in fresh water...

Yes, local lakes and ponds on a small aluminum boat

is there a part 2 yet
@Neon_Sandbox7 жыл бұрын
Not yet Ed. Life got in the way. However, I did buy some beefy extension spring but have not had a chance to install them. Possibly in the coming weeks, I'll be sure to post a video showing if they worked or not.

What size motor did you put on this kicker? Is it stable?
@Neon_Sandbox8 жыл бұрын
+John English I haven't used it yet. When I do I'll let you know how I made out. I'll be using a 9.9 merc.
@johnenglish66818 жыл бұрын
Did you find a spring that worked?
@Neon_Sandbox8 жыл бұрын
+John English I haven't found any springs strong enough to assist in lifting a motor yet. I stuck on some tension spring but they are only strong enough to lift the plate.
