We had a list of things we wanted to buy before going on a trek and we explored the bazar in Thamel which is the main tourist hotspot in Kathmandu Nepal. We were surprised at how cheap everything was.

Make sure u dont leave Nepal b4 dasain which is in 5th October.... dasain is the main festival in nepal like Christmas in uk. U can see true real hospitality,culture , traditions of Nepal during that time so dont miss your chance to experience authentic Nepal!!! Wherever u are/will be in Nepal during that time u will defo see the Vibes! It's a ten day festival and ends in 5th of oct!! Rest is for u to find and explore!!

No one will sell anything for a loss, prices are inflated for tourists than locals anyway and this is how bazaars work, to support the economy we actually bought things in Nepal rather than rent the gear or even bring them before arriving.

We stayed in the area of Thamel (main downtown with all the bars, restaurants and convenience stores) everything is in walking distance there. Hotels are usually pretty decent for around $20 a night. Our collection from the airport was included with our hotel so you might wanna check with your hotel first. Have fun when you get here, Nepal is beautiful 😍

How great! What a market hunt. Usually we don't go around that many shops. But there are so many stores that the fun of going to different stores like yours and buying the right thing at the right price is different. This strategy of market hunting before you go trekking is very successful which will boost your morale. Other than that I think your trekking kits are very well equipped. I personally liked your bag and jacket very much and the hat on her head was very nice.

Unfortunately, we have experienced many times (in many countries) where prices are not clearly displayed, the price will be increased just because you're a tourist. Business and customers alike will not sell/buy something if they're not happy with the price 🙄

We believe buying instead of renting helps the economy more than it would if you were to rent. Plus we can always use the trekking gear in other countries too 😊
