why not just use regular bulbs, if this person can afford all that stuff in his garage he can afford real bulbs and he keeps saying because it gets real dark in here" well invest in a led flashlight and let the chickens fend forthemselves in the dark

You're awesome! Keep asking questions throughout life and you will go far! I am the person your mentioned, so thanks for first thanks for recognizing all my junk, I mean stuff in my garage... Second, judging by your picture, I'm guessing you're not married yet, which is a wise move at your age. :) Let me explain the bulbs a different way...one day you or your wife may want a lamp in a spot with no power. As the man of the house you have to run wire to that spot and install a plug...not fun, not hard, but it takes time! OR you charge this bulb, plug it into the lamp, dim it, and it lasts for many days! Your wife is happy, and you didn't have to crawl in the attic and ruin your whole Saturday. That's what makes the world go round! As for the other use cases, I've got LED flashlights too, just showing other ways someone can use them.
