The characters in SR2 definitely feel like real people. I remember playing a mission with Gat, and seeing him run into a wall, and thinking to myself, "Huh, an AI bug." A few seconds later, "AI? Oh, yeah, Gat's an AI." It's amazingly immersive.

Dammit, Saints Row 4 is a good game. Sure it's not the best game ever made, but it is very fun. The plot is OK, the game-play is good and I love the main Antagonist, who has an English accent which means he's evil. Also the permanent moonscape is removed once you complete the final level. If Zero Punctuation put this in his top 5 games of 2014 then it flipping well deserves some credit.

Sure its a good game, but that's due entirely to the fact that it is just SR3 with re-skinned objects and a new plot, that really isn't as good as it's made out to be. One-dimensional characters and dialogue that plays fart jokes rather than trying to be satire or actually funny in any way. This game wasn't bad, it was just majorly disappointing and an obvious cash grab.

Sam Kirby Yeah. I've been a fan and player of the Saints Row series since the first game and, like Dan, I'd put a large amount of time (about 40-50 hours) into Saints Row 3 on PC. So when I booted up Saints Row 4, it was still a semi-enjoyable experience as its own game from the perspective of the casual observer (i.e. my friend who I was playing the game in co-op with, it being his first Saints Row game), but as someone who has been dedicated to the series for quite some time, it was disappointing to me. And now Gat Out of Hell has just been released and it's essentially Saints Row 4. I realize that it's meant to be an expandalone game for Saints Row 4, but all they did was re-skin everything AGAIN and come up with some BS plot where they are still overplaying fart jokes and not really putting much effort in. Gat Out of Hell is only $20, but they priced it that way so that could be used as a defense. Either way both SR4 and GOH are blatant cash grabs that are capitalizing on the Saints Row series.

I found that Gat out of hell was absolutely amazing, even from the view of a saints row fan. Probably the fact that you're in hell, you're the angel of death, meeting Blackbeard, meeting Shakespeare (English poetry FTW) and the twins was an enjoyable experience. Also, it's not a complete reskin. To me, the areas didn't seem familiar whatsoever (and yes, it is a slightly smaller version of Steelport) The gliding was fantastic and this game noticed that you don't need vehicles when you can fly. However, I respect and understand your opinion

I've noticed that some things that Dan (His name, right?) says is actually either in the game, or has something to turn it off. Say for instance, the health regeneration. I think there is an upgrade for it, and for the weapon menu freeze, you can go to the options and turn it off. No offense Nerdcubed, but I had to get it off my chest.

For all who don't know the Saints Row The Third dlc that gave you superpowers was Trouble With Clones it was the last mission and it isn't all superpowers in Saints Row IV the superpowers of SR3 are fireball super sprint and super punch and you combat roll a lot further hope this helped!

The G Modder God no... Sr3's DLC sucked. "there's nothing new here" .... dan....just because a game has similar mechanics to other games, dosen't mean it didn't bring anything to the table. look at how far cry 3 used th radio towers to reveal the map, just like the assassins creed games used viewpoints to reveal the maps. yet you didn't say anything about them, but you decided to bring that cheap card to the tabel with saints row 4.

MR contra It was more of an opinion review,that's how I see it at least.But he has a point.SR4 was just to much of the same.SR3 and 2 and 1 were amazing,SR4 was SR3 with aliens.But since he 100%ed SR3(so did I) it just fills like deja vu.I just can't have a proper answer to this because I enjoyed SR4 but at the same time I like to think about stuff after finishing it and SR4 just fills weird if you think about it.If I were to guess what happened with him was he played a bit and didn't finish the game because of the story and the world filling so familiar.

Max Payne no what i was saying is he said "there's nothing new" because he said it took elements from other games to use. and i was saying that just because a game takes certain elemets from other games doesn't mean it doesn't bring anything new. take the crackdown idea of collecting orbs/clusters, SR4 used that to have the the clusters upgrade your powers. i will say dan can judge a game too easily, he plyed this game for a fe whours and never got into the story or misions. like when he played DS1/2, he played the game for 1 hour and prematurely judged it

Far cry 3 only took ONE small thing from a game, but saints row 4 took stuff from MULTIPLE games and even copied it's predecessor! I have no sympathy for a re-skin with just some bullshit alien story. Although the DLC's look pretty cool.

its funny since sr4 actually got the enter the dominatrix dlc and rather than it be what was intended its a parody on how it was going to be implemented. theres running jokes throughout and it mocks itself endlessly. like it always does but this time its impressive.

Deep Silver tried to aim this at the fans of 1 and 2, and they are trying to re-invent the series, if Dan played Enter the Dominatrix, the dlc, and THEN posted this, he would see how this is completely different. And SR3, the superpowers went away after you finished the questline, and left a giant hole, because it never tells you how you lost them

Saints Row IV feels like a love letter to fans who have played since the original Saints Row, what with the inclusion of homies like Ben King, Julius, Maero, and Zimos. I have only played Saints Row 3 and I have to admit I was genuinely saddened at the destruction of the Earth because Oleg was one of my favorite characters. The deaths of characters we got to know (for me in Saints Row 3) before, like Oleg, Angel, Viola, makes the quest to kill Zinyak very personal. It has poor post-game play value though.

you can change the day setting by going in the ship you stole in one mission, and going to a computer, but you got to have a special upgrade

Inside your ship you are able to change the appearance of the sky and shit (after you completed the game go to the PC at pierce's place to change it)
