You haven't even scratched the surface! The world will be mesmerized for decades to come! She does a cover like no one else on the planet. She re-writes and/or re-arranges every song she sings to give it that "Angelina Touch". She knows the exact formula of how much she needs to "Angelina-ize" her voice, tone, inflection, emotion, persona and volume with different proportions to perfectly fit every song she sings! She has mastered the art of making her version of a song unique, yet showing complete respect for the Original.

This is just the beginning of your Angelina journey. She has literally dozens and dozens of performances that are going to impress you. So many genres and so many styles. She is one of the most versatile artist you will find. ...and if you didn't already love this girl based on her voice alone, just wait until you read a little more about her. Her soul is as beautiful as her voice.... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 15 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written four of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield", "Oslo", and "Million Miles" (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music. Update: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she has released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! She has done so much already, but at 15 she is just getting started!!!

Welcome to the world of Angelina’s music. Angie takes covers & Angelinalizes them & they become new & complete. She chooses all her own songs & does all her own arrangements ever since she was very young, even when she did “Screaming Jay Hawkins “I put a spell on you” at barely 9. On AGT Angie made her outfit from patterns of her grandma's art work. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not, I find it very intriguing that Lou Rawls, the American Jazz & blues singer legend, passed away the same day Angelina is born 😊 Loved your reaction!!!

nice reaction there are many songs by angelina that evoke such an emotional reaction. there is no day when I do not have tears in my eyes at least once when I hear them singing there is no singer I know with my 62 years that can convey so much emotion

Wonderful first reaction Scott. Welcome in the magic world Angelina's, she is so unique, as a person and as an artist, if you think that she at only 13 years old was able to face a challenge with such an iconic song as this and made her become her own song, with a fantastic reworking, a calm, powerful and terribly emotional interpretation and a great courage to take him to one of the most difficult audiences of the show. 🤗 She searched her way for her version of the song and chose the lyrics that fit. Simply, changing the times and the reading key, based on her ability to understand and elaborate the song which, for a girl of that age, is almost supernatural, she created HER Bohemia Rhapsody. She just loves singing and does it her way ❤️ The 3 year old little girl in Norway had a dream, while watching the Talents on TV, to sing one day for Simon and after only 10 years she achieved it really well, she fascinated him. Angelina isn't only what you saw in this fantastic performance, she is much more, even very different, but everything she does is at a superlative level, she sang about 130 different interpretations, including covers, songs written for her and also her originals. You can react at her first 4 public performances of Norway's Got Talent in 2014, those performances made during a few months are the her first public appearances, but you can already see what her was capable of and how her skills had improved in that limited period of time. Angelina created this genius arrangement for one of the most beloved songs on Earth. Please do yourself a favor and react to her performances on Norway's Got Talent. She has already helped to raise more than 20 million dollars for children's charities and environmental causes. Here is part of the biography I compiled for her and tells the story why she performs barefoot. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman, who has chosen to keep his life private. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet and married a Japanese man who passed away in 2019. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farci, English and Japanese. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training starting around age 4. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina asked her mother to enter her in Norway’s Got Talent (NGT) at age 5 but that talent show had a minimum age requirement of 7. Angelina at age 6 did record a few songs in a recording studio, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old.

You have a new subscriber but BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. Although you did not show it, Simon was correct when he said that he had never heard that version, as Angelina re-arranged it for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelina-fying" a song. Others have commented upon the lady looking astonished and the little girl crying. If you watch the end of Angelina's performance you will witness a lady standing and clapping enthusiastically. That was Angelina's maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani, who is a well known and respected Iranian artist and poet. On her right was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette, her sister and then her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager. As you probably know, Heidi Klum hit the Golden Buzzer. So Angelina went straight to the Final, where she performed Elton John's classic "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". True, it was a seven-year-old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth who appeared on the stage. To my surprise she confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge, in a manner which was more like an adult that a child. I was even more surprised when she declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. She gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. Yeah! The 7-year-old child was still there, but the voice wasn't. It was that of a middle-aged black woman who had been performing in public for years. I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. No, I wasn't just surprised. I was in awe of her talent. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on KZbin and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. The little girl in shock is Angelina's sister, sitting next to her mother and grandmother. They are an incredibly tight knit family and have protected her thus far. Her grandmother, a renowned artist, has been a tremendous influence on Angelina, introducing her to the jazz greats at an early age. I loved your reaction. I've watched this performance hundreds of times and it still brings on a tear. The people you talked about in the audience were Angelina's mother Sara Astar and her little sister Juliette. Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani (who has been a big influence on Angelina's development) and her uncle/manager Michael Astar, were also sitting in that group. The people you are highlighting as in shock are her granny, mum, and sister. Angelina has since signed to Republic Records, and she refused to go back to AGT and sign up to Simon, but they let her on anyway. If you want to see something really amazing, watch her arrangement of I Put a Spell On You, Black and White version. She only 9 years old, but is in beast mode.

She just turned 15 & recently released her 1st original song since she signed with a record label, called Million Miles. It's her 4th original she's written, but the 1st as a full-blown recording artist & it's about the loss of her grandpa. It's hard to encapsulate all my disjointed thoughts about this performance into one cohesive post, but here are my random thoughts as I watch this: First, let's talk about the judges. The first thing that I notice is that there really seems to be a connection between Heidi Klum and Angelina. Heidi is the one that does the on-stage interview, is the only one to applaud before Angelina starts to sing and is the one who gives the golden buzzer. Next is Howie Mandel. I think Howie is just cutting up a bit when he asks, "So the rest of us don't matter?" While Angelina is quickly rescued from that trap question by Heidi, I feel like Angelina, for an instant there, felt like he was putting her on the spot because after her performance, she seems to have little anxiety when he starts to talk and after he finishes she gives him a polite "thank you" along with a rather perfunctory smile. When Angelina starts to sing, Alesha Dixon says, "Wow!" The next time Alesha is the focus of the camera, she looks like she is about to start crying. She is REALLY affected by Angelina's performance. Then Angelina gives her a break by belting out that big note that shocked her out of that emotional abyss she's about to slip into. If you've seen Angelina's Gloomy Sunday think back to Mia Gunderson being an absolute wreck at the end. Finally, Simon. This is the moment Angelina had been waiting for. We all know that Simon can be pretty abrasive when he doesn't like someone. When he starts out, his comments are a bit vague. He says that it all came from her and talks about the simplicity of the arrangement. If you look at Angelina's face, at this point, she's smiling but not really sure what direction his comments are going to go. He says, "I've never heard that version before and my thought is, "Of course you haven't heard it you idiot. Angelina never performed it for you before." Finally, when he says, "Seriously, that was an amazing performance," she relaxes and appears to be happy and satisfied that she accomplished what she came for. Now, about Angelina and her performance: Bohemian Rhapsody is one of those songs that get covered rarely and for good reason. It's rarer still to hear a good cover of it. So what did Angelina do? She took a big risk. She took an iconic rock anthem and turned it into an intimate, soulful ballad that was absolutely stunning. Some reactors see the blond woman and young girl in the audience and think the girl is crying and her mother is comforting her. While I suppose that's possible, the blond woman is Angelina's mother and the young girl is Angelina's younger sister. Of note is that the older woman in that shot nearer to the camera is Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother who is the first one on her feet at the end of the song and is crying almost uncontrollably after the golden buzzer. I think that performance was the one Angelina had been practicing for all her life and it was worth the wait and all the effort.

She’s been singing since she was 1 1/2yrs. Do you know why Angelina Jordan Performs Barefoot? When Angelina was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age in Iran. (Her grandmother is Iranian artist Mery Zamani.) The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. According to her website, Angelina then “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” She keeps that promise to this day, as she says that little girl “is always in my heart.”

She always sings barefoot, to bring attention to the homeless in the world. She saw a child once on her way to a performance sitting with no shoes. She asked why that was so, and was told " some people don't have the money to buy them". She took off her shoes and gave them to that child. Since then, she sings barefoot. They call her the barefoot angel

This will show you her ability to cover any genre. As was mentioned, her cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins 1956 original "I Put A Spell On You", kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKipnaJ5hb2tedU at 9 years old, is a HUGE fan favorite. One of my many favorites, is a demo she did at 10 years old, of a song written by Baby Fuzz, called "I'm Still Holding Out For You" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqebnp15nZqcn6c This was recorded without Baby Fuzz's knowledge, and later leaked to KZbin as a fan made video. It is, in my opinion, one of her best recordings.
