My biggest issue with this game is that dover doesn't take bulk carriers, well not at least in the area where you were supposed to take it, well that and the buil carrier started sinking when you started pulling it

Dan, the reason why the boat steers to the left when you turn the levers to the right is, you are moving the RUDDER (or in this case probably a propeller, as it's a motorboat), not the BOAT itself! It's not like in a car, where moving the steering wheel to the right turns the wheels to the right and the car goes to the right. If you have a tiller and a vertical rudder at the stern the rudder pushes against the water as the boat sails forward, thus diverting the boat into the opposite direction. If you have a motor with a propeller, you move the underwater propeller and the boat tries to get back into line with the propeller, thus turning right when the propeller moves to the left. So for once this is actually not the game being broken. The creators just naively assumed everyone knew how to steer boats.

This honestly doesn't seem as bad as you make it out to be, you're kinda going into it with a really pessimistic attitude It's a simulator after all, you're not supposed to go with 120mph in your tug boat doing ramps or whatever, it's gonna be slow as heck but that's why it's a simulator. Not saying it's a good game, but it does seem to have some potential, it just appears to be made by someone who doesn't have a whole lot of experience with creating games, with a better interface and tutorials it might get somewhere.

Mirage yeah, this looks like one of the better 'shitty' simulators out there. Compared to some of the stuff dan played like that underground mining sim or whatever, this looks like they actually tried to make it feel like you were controlling a ship.I suppose its made for a very niche audience. Maybe if they ironed out the bugs and stopped it crashing all the time it wouldnt seem so bad.

Mirage Well, I was gonna agree with you, but man, those ropes and the physics of that large ship... The tugboat nearly drug the boat underwater(the anchors on the front were way above the water before, as soon as he started pulling they were in the water, nearly submerged).

Ben Byron I don't think being free has anything to do with it. If you look at some of the more known games, such as Team Fortress 2 and SCP: Containment Breach, you'll see that despite being free, they are high quality, and you can play them without the controls feeling awkward.

Rusty Shackleford That's an interesting comparison, I've never thought of it this way. Being Russian, I would say that it's still a debate here whether we are European or not. I live right on the border between Europe and Asia and I would say that culturally there is quite a difference between us and Europeans. We aren't Asian, though, we are really kind of stuck in between.

It's a shame really because this had a lot of promise. I did multiple vids while it was in early access because I thought this would be improved on and become a competent ship simulator. Unfortunately it seems to have been abandoned now. Switching from high graphics to medium stops the game from crashing BTW.

Really? I would not personally really label this as "Hell". For all the handful of shitty simulators out there this ones not that bad. The base engine looks okay. And the textures and graphics look decent, aswell as the interiors of the boats. It's DEFINITELY not a good sim but its not a bad one

You have to drive it like a zero turn lawn mower, or a tank. That boat has two motors, if you have one in full forwards and one in full reverse it will turn really sharp.

It seems like there are levels of nerdcubed hell. This is slightly below farm simulator, in that it's glitchy, but is quite playable and some people might enjoy it. It's nowhere near as bad as air control or manhunter. Games like FMC are in the middle.

If I'm right those levers are throttles for separate engines. I haven't gotten far in the video but NERD if you want to turn, you have to have one a zero throttle and the other at full then you'll start turning.

According to Maritime law a ship must be guided into port by a tug boat. When possible a pilot from the port must come aboard to steer the ship or provide guidance with the help of a tug boat.

I had my internship at the company that made that other(good) ship simulator, the one with the cruiseship... I'm 99% sure they're different people but the ports and graphics seem to have the same style and I'm so confused. I really don't believe they can be the same people due to the shitty physics(the company I interned with found physics extremely important), that big ship had like no physics.. The tugboat almost dragged it underwater(look at how the anchors were above water before, and then nearly went under when you started dragging)...
