gloomandlove I know that this is ONE YEAR LATE, but, it might be for road legalization. Tanks are more or less road legal (they have headlights, taillights, and indicators), so I'm guessing that the beeping is there because it is illegal for heavy motor vehicles to not beep when they back up on roads.

Also, tank engines are so loud the beep is so redundant.. I mean, if a tank drives next to you and you don't notice the sound from the engine , ground rumbling, etc. a beep ain't gonna do much.

This actually looks SO ASTRONOMICALLY BETTER than the actual military tank simulations. Then again those used the actual tank controls and you controlled it from a proper cabin, but the actual game looks so awful. Completely flat terrain, and the tank is the only 3D model. Everything else is a white forward facing sprite.
