I'm kinda surprised Infernal Constitution didn't get a shout out. +1 CON, resistance to cold and poison, and adv on saving throws against being poisoned. Makes me wish one of my current characters was a tiefling (next campaign).

Hey being an armorless rogue/fighter hybrid with the dragonhide is pretty great having an AC of 17 right off the bat (shield included in that) is awesome

As someone who rarely uses the "normal" races I agree with ted. My water genasi, firbolg, and aarakocra, need feats too lol

Races ignored: Aasimar - odd considering that the Eladrin and the Aasimar both appear as sample races in the DMG, and yet the High Elf gets the Eladrin "Misty Step" thing. Everything monstrous. Heck, you could give all Goblinoids the same Feat. Giantkin - Goliath and Firbolg Kenku Lizardfolk Tabaxi Triton If you're going to have Racial Feats, at least consider the previous text (Volos) as well. Dragonborn? Give them a Recharge on the Breath Weapon. Aasimar? Some sort of "Call the Heavens" ability where they get some sort of celestial Augury 1/LR (answering prayers) Giantkin - Boulder throwing. Basically Tavern Brawler, but with rocks. But the rocks are bigger and have better range. Make it like a thrown spear and give it 2d6 damage. And that's just off the top of my head.

Mike Gould They don't have feats for those races because of Adventurer league's PHB +1 rule. Which sucks, because that means that anything in a book other than the PHB will never get anything extra, unless it's reprinted in the new book.

Monstrous races should not get as many options as PHB ones. They're meant to be rarely used. The possibility to play them itself is your option.

Dragonborn already get breath recharge on a short and/or long rest.

For Dragonborn’s breath weapon, it should be very useful for any character even as an action. Spellcasters essentially get an extra 1st level AOE damaging spell per any rest and fighter like characters get an AOE option, an option for requiring a save for damage, access to an elemental damage type, and they don’t need to switch to a different weapon for a ranged attack.

Playing a rogue mastermind and grabbed prodigy right off the bat and it is great.

gnome with squat nimblness and fade away is a cool combo.. since with both of them combined you can get +2 dex (so a normal dex stat bump as one) and the other is you can turn invisible on one hit plus +5 movement and either athletics or acrobatics and you get advantage on escaping being grappled.

I would love to see you guys go through Xanathar's Lost Notes to Everything Else, which is available on the DM's Guild. It is a product of the DM's Guild Adepts, leb by Ruty Rutenberg. It has more subclasses, more DM's options, some more material on Chult, and a few new monsters. Looks pretty solid.

Dragonborn should be allowed to start at level 1 with one of those traits it would balance the lack of starting stats for dragonborn compared to other races

Are racial feats automatic or do I have to pick them? Does my Dragonborn get all the racial feats at lvl one or do I have to pick them eventually

Prodigy used to include +1 ability score. They removed that & added the expertise.

I love the idea of the dragonborn feats, sad to see the flight go away it didn't seem that out of place or anything just a cool option. I built a wizard with the dragon hide feat and with a decant dexterity he should do alright for AC so I'm happy their.The dragon Fear is a cool idea I like the option as eventually breath weapon although cool doesn't always stack up so getting that option is nice. Dragon hide is my favorite though because if your a caster boom you have armor because your likely to buff dex anyway, and even as a fighter who wears heavy armor I like it because if I lose my chainmail I'm still tough enough not to worry about it to bad or for any class its much the same.

Also links well with Chaos Sorcerer, use Tides of Chaos to gain advantage, next turn cast a leveled spell and roll wild magic than repeat

It's an incredible feat. I use it on my Arcane Trickster and the sneak attacks are critting significantly more often. It's super good with a familiar for the help-action, or wolf-barb for always advantage.

I don't use the race feats because at least personally I find the power levels are all over the place. Bountiful Luck is way to strong were while useful Elven Accuracy and Flames of Phlegethos are weaker than others

hexblade warlock with elven accuracy and devils sight/darkness, shadow of moil, foresight is insanely good. Also go GWM and maybe polearm master.

The prodigy expertise comes at the cost of being able to increase any ability by 1... so not all upside over the UA version...

Well there are actually some pseudo/semi official feats for the races from volos. You git them if you pre ordered XGE on dnd beyond. I haven't seen them but from what I heard they are pretty meh.

The Sky Warden (or whatever it's called for the Aarakocra) is fairly decent both in terms of utility or and feel, but that's pretty much the only one as far as I recall right now

Another splat book, with New rules, feats and Magic. I like the new D&D 5ed, but Hackmaster 5ed i just much Better, and you dont need to buy splat book's.

I don't really care for racial feats. unless every race gets 1 at first level i just don't see the point. nothing in there i would waste an ABSI on.

that's how I use them in my game everyone gets 1 at first level with the option to pick up other racial feats (if there race has them) at higher level's that way there more of a flavor ability

Playing a Dragonborn, not under your rules? Sorry, but I'm with Ted. There's not enough there to 'justify' taking that feat over something that's going to improve your overall effectiveness. Nice that the save keys off of your Charisma, but unless you're running a Conquest Paladin, it's not going to be very useful. And even IF you're running a Conquest Paladin, the simple fact that that Aura that locks them down also inflicts damage, meaning the Feared target gets to make another save, cripples that synergy as well. Face it, WotC just doesn't like Dragonborn. PHB Dragonborn get 2 racial traits where every other race gets 4 or 5 things. And then the Dragonborn get shafted on their Racial Feats as well.
