+Sean Freeman It was a good idea to remove it. Like Dan said, the intro was a creative comfort zone. The hello procrastinators intro thing was making him fall into a pattern. By removing that, it forces him to think on his feet. Also, there IS an intro, it's just a very short animation with the sounds of the game in the background. So it's not just "throwing the video to our faces", +Charoula1608. Like Dan, I usually just skip intros if they're over like 5-6 seconds long. If I go to watch a video and it starts with 10 seconds of dubstep and a strung out intro animation, I just find another youtuber to watch lol

I think the music thing is because it is easier to remember chiptune music purely because it is very explicit, everything has to happen in a certain way and has exact notes. Whereas now they can do whatever they want making it more difficult to remember.

+JesterBe3 I don't think it's just that they're simple to remember, although that could help them in being so memorable they get burnt into your very essence. I think somebody once described old chiptunes as being better mainly due to the technical limitations meaning that good composers had to make tunes with incredible melodies, rather than being able to produce movie-like epic, atmospheric and/or ambient soundtracks. I would agree with this notion, myself. Dan brought up a good example to contrast against in Uncharted. Yeah, the theme tune is pretty memorable, but the rest was just kind of background noise that set the tone. It's not that it's bad, on the contrary it's actually quite good, but it isn't memorable. I'll bring up what I think is one of the best examples of the classic stuff: the soundtrack to Mega Man 7. It's especially nice, because the SNES was in the butter zone. Not as limited as previous consoles (or the Seyga Genesis/Seegah Megadrive's "Crackling Ass" brand soundchip, which was pretty awful in essentially everything except Sonic games to my knowledge), which resulted in much better soundtracks, yet still limited and still early in the lifetime of modern videogames so it still had great melodies because that was the norm for good composers. Just listen to Forgotten Factory (AKA Junk Man's stage theme) and try paying more attention to the background to catch the detail in the beat and harmony, you should see what I mean. Do doo do do doo dooo doooo do...
