I'm so excited to make craft vlogs as a slow process because sculpting videos were just unrealistic and unhealthy for me. Please leave online store names for wallpapers. Remember not to use links because youtube will put you in the hidden comments section. but the new craft tour for steampunk will be soon. Just bear with me because I'm kind of slow lol

I'm happy for you Jackie that you've found a way to enjoy crafting again. Don’t always feel like you have to share your creations with us grains, but of course I, as I'm sure many others will agree, would love to see anything you make. I obviously enjoy your crafting videos, and I loved your last video of paint pouring over those bear figurines with Sika, but remember to create for yourself and not just your followers. If you want to show us your finished sculptures, I would be very interested in seeing that. Also, you should name your skull and little pipe person! You could imagine little personalities for them and naming them might help with that. I remember I painted a paper maché skull when I was like 15 and I called it Isaac and his personality was grumpy. I'm thinking I might upcycle him one day and give him a makeover. Much love to you Jackie. 💖

This sounds like a really cool project! May I suggest, instead of the brick wallpaper, a wallpaper, which imitates distressed metal, or, a gray brick wall? If you're going to be sitting right next to the wall, a slightly calmer shade (grayish) might be nicer in the long run, and if you add copper and brass stuff, and some plants, in front of the wall, a gray background really makes the warmer tones pop. Gray also looks stunning with the kind of warm dark wood that table of yours is. Also, this is my own neurodivergent problem, but I get distracted by wallpapers with patterns that are too obviously repetitive. I love the idea of the lamps with the humanlike figures, but the lamp with the clock (I bet that battery was for the clock) has two functions, so it's more handy. The scull is also super cool, but not very functional. The idea off adding some moss on it sounds great!

Plus the color of the wall can affect the color of the project being worked on too from the light bouncing off! A more neutral tone would definitely be better.

This is so cool! My faves are the clock/lamp and the Eddison. The battery is for the clock. I think the sitting lamp would look great on a small stack of books on a shelf. If there is such a thing as rustic stone wallpaper, that might work as a backdrop. I can't wait to see how you put everything together! xoxo's Sandie

Going with the era steampunk is set in, a Victorian inspired wallpaper would work wonderfully. Maybe something that looks a little distressed. It would be a nice contrast to all the metal tones.

I'm super excited to see how everything comes together! For the wallpaper I like the bricks, just make sure it's more on the dark side so the lamps and skull really pop especially with the lighting. And of the four, my favorite has to be the lamp with the pressure gauge clock. It also looks like you could store shorter tools in the bottom open pipe of the lamp like a shallow cup for items

It's going to look really cool when you get things sorted out! The skull is a type of resin, but I can't remember what kind. It's really common in home décor items. Maybe it's fiberglass resin? But yeah, it's super heavy and breaks the same way a ceramic item might, but it's a plastic type of material. I like the brick wallpaper idea, but you could also get plastic brick façade that's 3D and that would look pretty cool too.

Mine is the shelf/person shaped lamp. Reminder me of the "Just do it" meme you put on some of your videos. 🤣 Suggestion: maybe a white-washed brick wall wallpaper? Gives you the texture without overtaking all the cool stuff. Last note... My daughter (8) and I have been watching your videos for almost a year, and we consistently look forward to your videos! I would recommend not making the space too dark and ensuring you have adequate light. Obviously a whiter light is better especially for colour and painting. Remember that steampunk can be shiney and chrome. Look up those luxury locomotives from the 20's to 40's. But always consider the practicality of your workspace. The space you have for things and adequate lighting. The skull is very Warhammer 40k. Not even like steampunk 40k like an actual 40k aesthetic. I dig it

BTW, fellow youtuber Alexandra Gater has TONS of ideas for transforming spaces with wallpapers - some even temporary stick on stuff - and she is a fellow Canadian. AHHHHH, steampunk! It's going to look so cool when you have it put together. As for background, distressed/muted/decayed wallpapers may tie it together but it's really personal preference. You could even go for distressed bricks so it's more muted if you enjoy the brick texture.

Victorian style wallpaper would be great. Steampunk is mostly set in a Victorian time frame, so any kind of pattern from the mid to late 19th Century would give the corner a Steampunk Gentlewoman Tinkerer's look. And finally, looking forward to seeing the art you create once you can relax into it and really enjoy yourself again! Proud of you, Salty Overlord :)

I've found antique wood paneling backdrops a.nd fabric. Also Bently House Minis used a brick wallpaper as an accent wall, it looks amazing!

Have you watched Kurios, by Cirque du Soleil? It is steampunk. Try KZbin.

So exciting! I can't wait to see the end results and the craft vlogs! (and re wallpaper, sorry if this is overstepping, but as you've said you have strong reactions to metals and chemicals, an ecofriendly wall covering might be best. Wayfair ca has some made in Canada brands [Special Features: Made in Canada] tag, and there are also some amazing liquid wallpapers like silkplaster - though I couldn't see on the website if the metallics included actual metal or just mica).

I am so psyched! Steampunk is totally my jam! For DragonCon one year, I steampunked up my electric wheelchair and had dry ice creating “steam”! It was so fun! I have bins and bins of random junk I save to use on Steampunk creations. My suggestion is to start saving things like bottle caps, lids, weird pipes, bits & bobs and then try putting together your own found item sculpture. Some brass colored spray paint turned anything into a random machine part! As for my favorite of your new acquisitions: I love the one with the gauge and the faucet handle! Creating gauges is a lot of fun. I save jar lids and put them inside with a but of acrylic for the glass.

The "sitting figure" lamp makes me think of Little Helper, a tiny humanoid robot with a lightbulb for the head, from Duck Tales series and Donald Duck comics.

On Amazon, they have a grey stone and vines wallpaper…. Or just grey stone…… it might be less busy and more subtle colors, while keeping the steampunk look…. 😉

I say a mossy brick or brick with broken out parts and plants growing out of them when be a great wallpaper for space. Can't wait to see what you do with it, regardless. That being said, I'm excited to see you craft, again. I've really missed it. I'm even more excited that you're excited about it. 🥰 P.S. You could sit that sitting lamp on some books or some sort of diorama, maybe. In my personal opinion, he'd look way cuter on the desk, than on the edge of it. Just a thought... ☺

How very cool! Last time I was in Montreal I went to a shop called Artisans of Azure on St.Catherine very cool shop. I remember there is a ton of fantasy/larp wares. Not sure if they carry any steampunk stuff though. But they might know some places to check out. Just thought I'd throw it out there. By the way, I love watching your videos. You have a great sense of humor and seem like a wonderful person. Good luck with the new adventure. I can't wait to see the final look.

So happy for you jackieee Oh Mi gurrrrd! About that wallpaper...I think you need to put some texture there but not something too overpowering so your new decorations can shine like u said Here is a few ideas: Burnt cement for a light base and you can add tubes or gears to the wall. If you want a more natural vibe wood is always nice, especially if it looks weathered, and you can stick some moss on it for a special touch. If that's too much, you can always go with bricks, but I think a lighter option like white or gray might be better. Either way, it's going to be amazing! so excited and happy for you!

Well done Jackie, that is power !! Mind over matter :) For the wallpaper; the lamps and skull reminded me of an submarine, so perhaps the inside of a submarine on your wall? I think it would be nice :) Or an ocean-scene with a submarine in it? Love to you.
