We have 2000+ hours on our X7. It has had quite a number of problems but it has also been great to use. The unlocked control has been a game changer for us and the fine surface finish is impressive. You get what you pay for. This machine is all of the potential quality without the service to get it there. I wish that we could have paid support. Chen is great! but time is money. They need USA stock of parts. Here is a list of production stopping problems that we have had so far: -Swing arm position sensor was not secure and caused a crash. -Spindle was missing a gasket and rusted out the bearings after a 1000 hours. -Tool release button, and piston position sensors stopped working after 500 hours. -The pull stud claw needed replacement at 1200 hours. -The enclosure sprung a leak. -The X axis ball nut was missing screws from the factory. -We also ground the spindle flange flat to get rid of a harmonic at 7200 RMP. Just an observation: Nerdly's machine is a bit too clean if you know what I mean. One would expect the buttons on the control to have a bit more wear and for the paint to look like chips have chipped away at it. Overall, we are happy with the machine. These are so cheap for what they are. Mr. Chen has really innovated with the machine design. They just need better QA and USA part stocking.

Well, Titans of CNC just announced that they are now the USA distributor for Syil, so maybe there is a chance for better part stocking?
@Rimrock300

Yeah, I will think Titans will help bring the machines and service to new hights. they possible have taken the previous distributor into their portifolio, and/or some main guys from there that already knows the machines well. Will be exiting to follow.@@Thorhian

Great review. It would be great to hear more about your experience with tolerances, surfacing accuracy, surface finish, control options, macros, and other important machining aspects of this brand. Performance is really more important than size and price when you're making parts for a living.

I've only had experience with Mazak, Korean VMC of various brand and Doosan product. As I'm shopping for a 40x20x20 mill I saw these X11 model but I don't even think they are in production in shops anywhere. I'm afraid to spend so much money on basically a fix-it-yourself machine which is the main reason I want to depart from my old Eagle Yang SMV-1000. My machine runs 40 hours a week at maximum rpm, would you be comfortable doing this with your X7? I also have a smaller 24x12x15 VMC that is equiped with Fanuc controller/servo/spindle that I would even consider replacing for an X7 if the machine can sustain daily production without falling apart.

Very good review. I really like those machines for price and quality. I may look into one after seeing your reviews. The support is a tough one for me. We have 14 machines now and some of the best support, with current work load we have no time for outside support that charges while they Learn your machine if that makes sense.

im interested in this machine. But I would use it for cutting hardwood sculptures. Do you think it would be an issue?
@Xenomorphin1
@Xenomorphin1 11 ай бұрын
It's overkill for that, and depending on the spindle speed it might be unsuitable. For hardwood you don't need that much stiffness. Get a gantry style CNC, or better yet, DIY it. You will get better performance for your use (more area) for like $3000.
@jacevincent2574
@jacevincent2574 9 ай бұрын
what kind of hardwood sculptures? This is WAY overkill for almost everything wood I can imagine, except maybe if you want to make ornate chess pieces? For it to make any sense, your product would have to very intricate and even then you'll almost certainly be better off with a smaller 5 axis machine

Spoiler alert, THK makes cheap ways and blocks, the price goes up as you increase the accuracy, and by quite a lot. Same with screws and nuts. If you ever pull the way covers off, and we all should at least every year to make sure the lube system is fine, please do a video showing the construction details. PS, my Kitamura takes issue that all BT30 machines are weak and shouldn't run 5/8" or bigger tools.

Syil sells a T5 and T7 machines . They are tap drill centers . Huge travels x600,x700 compared to S7 , Rapids are 48m/min. .i know they wont luimp off metal as well as a T7 though. Did they ever sell any anywhere ?? Searched for vids there is nothing except by syil itself. M/C weights are wrong in their own adverts 4500kg is not 4500 lbs. Communications with China is not good. I asked about unlocked parameters and was told the if door unlocked the program will stop . hmmm

? I think the height syil gives is when spindle is at up position. I have been thinking about getting one. I have space that is mostly really low at height but there is few spaces that connect to second floor. I would still need to move mashine trough low spaces. So how high is the syil x7 when spindle is down.
