For those wondering, As a Tormach 1100mx owner (prior I sold it) Yes, get a SYIL over a Tormach. My god.
@timanderson98252 жыл бұрын
Just sold a 770M and while that machine ran great and served me well, the new Syil X7 isn’t even in the same realm of a Tormach. So if someone is asking, get the Syil and don’t look back.

Thanks Jay. Keep the videos coming. I am just getting to know my X7. You mentioned a 3 phase rotary converter is required if you have single phase. I purchased through Syil a phase converter 240v single to 400v 3 ph 50Hz There is no rotating electric motor...... just pure electronics. It is a nominal 10 KVA I use this to run my mill and lathe.

awesome...a guy here in town had ran a rotary phase converter...its nice to see syil making it easier to put these machines in a location that only has single phase electricity
@ltsky311 Жыл бұрын
It really matters on whether you are going to power more than 1 machine with the phase converter. As rotary converters are far more efficient at running multiple machines at once. And if your 1 machine is pushing more than 3hp you may have issues or it gets super expensive. So it really comes down to the end use.

I'm glad that it's done exactly what you want it to, but for me, until they start showing up on the used market, that's just too much money for that little range of travel. And while I know the used CNC market is a bit of a crap shoot for most, after a 15+ year stint as an on site machine repairman, hardware issues aren't the trap for me that it might be for others. Keep us in the loop going forward; if it's still going strong several year's down the road, I'll add it to the shopping list if one comes up used...

most of the world runs three phase 380 to 400 volt 50 Hz including China and Europe. We even have three phase available in apartments. Sounds like they did not make a version tailored to the US but around here it would be no problem at all.

@@NerdlyCNC Hey, thanks. I did a little looking around on the Syil website and I didn't find that. Now that I'm typing this it occurred to me that perhaps I should have been looking at the Autodesk website. Specifically for that controller... I learned a few things today. BTW - I wish that Syil would post prices on their website. I hate having to request a price quote. Awesome video, very informative. Id be curious on a doosan dnm4000 vs the x7. The doosan is bigger in all directions, has a cat40, 12k spindle. Its a little more maybe around 40k but i think it'd better option. I think id like the x7 over a tormach and a haas though. The z min height to the table isnt too bad, i think the dmg i run is like 6. I think putting 2-3 inch bolster plate would help with that distance. Like the saunders table plate. But since your z is pretty limited and you have a 4th axis it might not be worth it. They're great if you're doing table work more than vice. I think the biggest draw back is a bt30. I think every machine should have a capto spindle though haha

19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ 27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ” Luke 16:19-31

The Optimum here in Sydney is sold ( and serviced) by a long term Machinery supplier…… so servicing was available ( located about 15 minutes from my house. Although the Syil is really a ‘diy service’ option, the help from China is rapid, and their chief tech guy is a real pearler 👍 I’m glad I made the plunge 😁 Regards Robert
