Hey guys my own opinion, I’ve tried these out and the XReal 2Pro’s and they were better quality, color but weighed a little more and are able to be fully black with included shade covers. BOTH are great but they come to user preference especially when you can’t adjust these for each eye individually. You’ll see blurry corners on BOTH. And BOTH are a blast to have. Ray looks a little worse but also costs less and weighs less, XReal is a little more quality a little more money and weighs less more.

I love my XR glasses. I've had the Xreal Air and the Viture XR Pro. All of them use the same Sony micro OLED displays. These seem to be no different. I commute to work via public transit and these fit that use case perfectly but I even use them at home since the OLED contrast ratio is better than my old LCD TV even though their the same resolution. Perfect for laying down in bed, or just maintaining posture when using handhelds like the Steam Deck. I'm actually surprised no other big names have made their own, especially Sony since it's their displays that are being used. That being said, the tech feels stagnant with these new releases. I don't see what Ray Neo is doing that other companies haven't already done. Would love a pair of truly wireless ones, Perhaps PEAKDo could pull something off in that regard, or we may just have to wait until powerful transmitters just get smaller. I'm really surprised Meta hasn't made a pair yet. Their partnership with Ray-Ban is perfect for this form factor. The form factor is absolutely a win, but I'd like to see a bit more progress in terms of the tech being implemented.

I don't get everyone's issue with these products, they are expensive yes, but it is pretty cool to be able to do this. To all the people who want a wireless version: I can't imagine how much bulkier it would make these glasses and the data transmission you would need to get this right. I mean with video playing you could buffer, but for super low latency gaming I just don't think it would be possible for a long time.
@genio88203 ай бұрын

The more competition the better, but these are worse than my Rokid Max that have a bigger 50' FOV and built-in myopia adjustment...Now we need the next-gen of these glasses with higher FOV, higher 2k or 4k resolution and built-in wireless mode. I already use my Rokid a lot for movies and gaming on Ally X

These are certainly very interesting, especially since I don't enjoy playing my deck because the screen is so small. I like a bigger screen experience. So I do like the idea a lot, but I honestly find myself with such little time to play my steam deck anyways that I Can't justify the almost $400, though I feel the price does fit what you're getting just if you're gonna use them more. And my commuting is me driving in a car and I'm controlling it. So if you know, keep time there and I watch only a few KZbin videos (many of which I actually just listen to) or TV shows, either. This would be strictly strictly for gaming.

Valve needs to make a set like this that employs Steam Link to stream from any device in your network. Then Ill buy into the tech. For now, this doesnt make much sense as the product is limited by the source devices battery life. OR--- they could incorporate PD over USB Type-C and allow us to plug into a docked device for extended use.

I think the only persistent issue with all these AR/XR glasses is that people that wear glasses are kinda screwed as you’d need to wear those in between that and the display. Or spend $200+ on a new prescription for those specific glasses

@mattcy65912 ай бұрын
Ok update. Form factor is nice. Light weight, comfortable, and very discreet. And the screen is incredibly bright. And it is an absolute game changer not having to look down at your screen. The future is this. It sounds dumb but having to look down at my phone feels so laborious in comparison. The screen is really crisp HOWEVER.... This thing supposedly supports up to 70mm ipd. I have a 62mm ipd. The left and right edges are clearly vignetted (cropped and blurred). Games usually have hud elements on these sides so it makes some games either impossible or uncomfortable to play. I've adjusted the nose rest and cannot get the full display into my field of view. The next best option is to go into steam deck settings and scale down the screen size however that results in a slightly worse image quality. If you have a 5x range ipd, get this. It is great. If you have a 60+.... Maybe wait. Additionally, I don't need glasses in real life but I have a pair that I use to watch movies in the theater. It's not needed but it's basically the difference between watching 1080p and 4k for me. With these AR glasses I feel like even if your eyes are pretty good, you may want to opt for the prescription lens inserts. My experience went from wow this tech is finally here, to maybe it needs a little more time in the oven to fit a wider and more varied audience. For comfort I would prefer if the screen was not a floating flat panel, and instead had a slight curve. I can't wait for the tech to get there. Better field of view and more accommodating eye distance/focals.

XR Glasses are a great pairing with a Portable PC or Phone. Ive had the XREAL + Steam Deck combo for a while now. Ill admit though, even though I travel with the solution every day, I dont use it as much as you think I would. What I think I want is the same form factor, but a little more secluded like VR for the wider field of view and less light bleed. Im also assuming this is 0-DOF. I did pick up the XREAL Beam 1st Gen at the time and while nice, does make things complicated as far as wire management. I agree, Im waiting for full wireless support but with 3-DOF+ support and a wider field of view, or at least better management of the virtual displays. Its still great tech, but I just wish I was able to use it more than I do.

@@antjones2281 i have a pair of Rokid Max and while they are great they are not as sharp and as good as a real 4k oled TV, also the display dimension varies depending on where you “project” the display, the closer you look to a wall the smaller the display will seem, it tricks the brain into thinking it’s huge but it’s not. The Air 2S XR glasses are a game changer for media lovers. Let’s be honest-these aren’t trying to be the next gaming glasses, and that’s okay! With a crisp 3840 x 1080 combined resolution and 108% sRGB color gamut, they’re perfect for binging movies or catching up on KZbin. The 600 nits brightness and 46° FOV mean they hold up both indoors and out. Plus, with lightweight, soft-touch materials, you can wear them comfortably for hours-ideal for long flights or commutes. If you’re looking for immersive media without the bulk or complexity, these glasses are a solid win.
