I like the idea of GeForce now and I might even consider ditching my big expensive and power hungry PC to just use that... If it could just work the way Nvidia originally set it up. That is, just work as if it's your PC, just running somewhere else, but have ALL your games. Unfortunately greed interfered and publishers didn't think that just because you owned the game you had the right/license to play it on a cloud system, so more and more games got pulled from the service and now games specifically have to opt in on supporting GeForce now. I just checked some of the games that I still have on my list of games I really want to play at some point and there are just too many that are not available on GeForce now... Like Hogwarts legacy, armored core VI, all the Sony games, Jedi survivor, any final fantasy, even Dave the diver (though that could just run on the steam deck, but just to illustrate)... I honestly find more games that don't show up on Nvidia's check page than that do, and I'm looking for big titles here. Some of these can be played on other cloud services (which of course is the whole point) but I'm not going to pay for multiple services or constantly switch around what I'm paying for (not to speak of dealing with different levels of quality and ways to use the service). That just makes it a lot less appealing and I'll just stick with local hardware. It's kinda funny and sad to see the gaming industry making the same mistakes as the movie/series streaming services, with everyone guarding their IP jealously on their own platforms, effectively chasing people away from streaming entirely.

The only thing that annoys me about GeForce now is that you have to own the games. I had like Xbox Game Pass because, for a subscription, you can play games that you don't have to buy. I wonder what it would take to get that kind of functionality in GeForce Now.

Geforce now is great and I have an account (not paid) but tbh I never use it co's My PC plays games native 4k ultra in 95% of games if not 1440p for the other 2 to 5% and my Rog ally plays most games 1080p high settings so usually play games that won't run on my Decks on my ROG ally or PC. But it's great for people who only own a deck.

Glad the option is there for people, but I’m moving towards in home streaming. If you have the hardware it makes a lot of sense

I’ve had gforce now for a while now (since Starfield released) it was a weird setup but works wonders for me. Had to download a browser and input a couple of lines of code manually to get the controls to work.

I do a mix of GeForce now, xbox cloud, and steam local streaming.

I actually enjoy the joycons a lot. Never had an issue with them, colors are fun, they’re light and feature packed, and the sticks are just fine. I’ve played with my same switch since day one and I have to say I hope they don’t change much other than the power, software, and maybe some cosmetic improvements. It’s served me well for 7 years or however long, and that’s impressive in today’s market.

I like to think this way. Remastering & Remake pretty much mean the same thing, But with two key differences. Remake: Explains that the video game is completely overhauled on latest Hardware & Upgraded animations, Including new possible content that was not able to be stored... Such as Cut Content, Concept Ideas or so... Remaster: Remastering is the Systems of the core mechanics of the game offering the exact same game, With upgraded resolution & Gameplay... But directly tackles the glitches or Problems associated with the titled game mentioned or thought of. Metroid Trilogy is a good example... Even though it did not offer greater or lesser quality in the game, It Remastered it's systems to appeal to the latest hardware capabilities, It was not a Remake. Since it was released on Wii U & Wii respectfully. Metroid Prime Remastered is a whole different ballpark. Nintendo Recreated the entire story from the ground up adding new content & Offers better capabilities on the Nintendo switches Hardware. Offering better visuals and increased the end goal resolution to the maximum, But Contains the similarity of the core mechanics & Does not change the System or coding that gives the game it's purpose. It does nothing to add or change, So it does not "Remake" The game... otherwise, we would have more enemies, New content or DLC's in this considerable time... It is speculation on what others think, Because opinions may differ, But I like to share my thoughts to see what others may say in the comment section.

The beam imo is bullshit. That feature should be included by just using an app. Why is an external box necessary? Just have it pair with bluetooth to your iPhone and that should be enough using an app.

While I agree, I, and I suspect you, have the luxury of multiple platforms on which to play. Between all the people in my house, we have an Xbox, PS5, Switch, Steam Deck, iPads, and two fairly beefy gaming PCs. There's a Nintendo 64 around here somewhere as well. There are lots of people out there who only have access to (and/or the resources for) _one_ platform, and in the case of Xbox, there are still plenty of damned good games on there, mostly thanks to Game Pass. So while "there are so many other places to play games," is true for you and I, it most certainly is not for everyone.

33:08 No, I don't get it. Nintendo has so much money. This was a situation that showed Nintendo's true colors to me and how much they care about their customers, which is not at all. If they think they can get away with something, they'll do it.

The latency reducing features (Nvidia Reflex and AMD anti-lag) can work without frame generation, so you can get the same reduced latency without frame generation. The main “added” latency with frame generation is just that generally higher frame rate is lower latency since the game is updating more quickly. But with generated frames the game doesnt update so the latency is as if the generated frames weren’t there. I think AFMF also only works with DirectX11 and 12 games (since it is driver based frame generation compared to FSR/DLSS frame generation being build into the game). I am not sure if the game has FSR frame generation build into it if it then uses that instead of AFMF since it is better (at least a guy testing Framework 16 laptop noticed difference with frame generation from one game to another which also fitted with good experiences has FSR frame generation implemented but I am not sure if it was the case or not). Hardware Unboxed put it well that frame generation is a smoothing technology and not performance (latency) enhancing technology. So ye use it if it gives you a better experience with the added smoothness without being an issue with latency. Then as you’ve said, AFMF specifically makes sense for games without big movements compared to other frame generation technologies.

The PiMax Portal QLED still has one of the best portable screens and comparable to OLED with the unique option for video in. I tried putting one in a Nexigo Gripcon but no luck registering the controllers. The Gripcon does a good job fixing most of the issues I have with the Switch in portable mode and the size is just about right between Switch and Deck but dpad isn't great. If the Steam Deck 2 has an OLED screen at 1080p and is roughly the same size as the Switch with Gripcon, Valve has a real winner. Though with x86 hardware, that's some wishful thinking if customers want a more sleek design, performance boost and higher res screen. Then again 2 years is a long time with development..

FFXIV works perfectly if you have it through Steam. You only need the workarounds and get problems from updates if you don’t have it on Steam.
