Very cool! You asked if there were any planes we would like to see... I've always thought that the Yak-3 had a really unique look to it. Nice stout and short wings. Idk, whatever you think is cool I guess. Keep up the great content!

Epic! I've built the FT Spitfire and really like it. This version of Spitfire for sure is going to be on my next projects! Quick question: Does it fly well with a 2200 battery? Which engine do you suggest? I fly the FT Spitfire with a 2822 engine with a 2200 battery but it feels that it's too much weight for the engine. I would like to know what do you suggest for this model (nnSpitfire 800 series)?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 7 жыл бұрын
Hi! A 2200 will definitely work but you'll be on the heavier side. A 1300 is a much better match. The motor you used on your FT spit will work great on my 800 Series planes! Good luck!

Nic, has anyone scaled this design up to a 1400mm wingspan? If so, any known issues. I really like your design but would like something larger.

Would you be able to scale this plan up to about 1400mm? Or maybe 1200mm would I just be able to print the plan that much bigger?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 5 жыл бұрын
I have beta plans for a 1500mm nnSpitfire that would work. You can scale the plans to any size but you have to account for the fact that the foam thickness doesn't scale with the plans. This means you'll have to make adjustments as not all pieces will 'fit perfectly'.

Nic Lechner ill wait for the bigger plans then 😁 really the best looking foamboard plane out there, especially with the wing root fairings!

Hey Nic, so I decided to build the sonic series Spitfire beta. Got it all built, was pretty hard for me tbh haha (2nd plane) and now I have a problem with balancing it is around 1,5 to 2cm tail heavy from the balance point too much? Should I try to find some weights to put in the front? Thanks!
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's too tail heavy. Add weight or a bigger motor to get CG set properly. Send me a picture of it when you're all done if you can.

Hi Nic, looks like a very nice build, wondering how you print these since the plans arent broken up into 8 1/2 x 11 sheets to print? would love to build one. thanks for your time,

What size paper do you print these plans on?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 7 жыл бұрын
martin is right on the money! If you're printing from home just use the tiled plans on 8.5x11 paper. Otherwise A1 or ARCH D size paper will work.

Is a 2204 motor and 850mah battery enough for this?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 7 жыл бұрын
It will work but you'll have a hard time balancing it. Will be tail heavy most likely.
@szajba8106
@szajba8106 7 жыл бұрын
It won't be, I made MiG-3 800 and it was much underpowered. Go for Emax CF 2822 at least + 1,3Ah 3s LiPo + 20A ESC. It won't be much more expensive than mighty minis equipment.

Nic thx for advice about Taranis QX7. I joined quad racing rc group and everyone has it or is going to buy it, it seems it was the best option in that price :) By the way, I have a request. A simple plane - Savoia Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero - tri motor bomber. I wanted to make plans on my own, but I don't have time, photoshop and experience in designing RC planes. This plane has perfect shape for foam board, it has box-a-like fuselage, straight wing leading edge and it looks nice overall. I think that 1m wingspan version of it, powered by 3x2204 or 1806 motors and 11,1v 2200mAh would work just fine.
