What better way to spend on such a beautiful day....yup flying

With fast planes like that when I’m not being exactly “responsible” with my electronic setup, I mount my ESC on the exterior of the plane.
@joshuawfinn5 жыл бұрын
I'd have done that if it weren't so draggy already. As it is I've got to get everything I can from it. Good news is the new ESC runs nice and cool.

That’s amazing. Really well done.

THATS awesome Josh... I want to build that plane now!!!!

I have been watching Flite Test and your channel for a while now, and have resisted building a foam board plane simply because of the total lack of aesthetic appeal. This video cinched it. I am going to build one. I have always wanted to build a sea plane which is a bit sad as I currently reside in the desert. I golf though, so I'll take it along for the inevitable water hazard. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good Videos... that's good a lot of actual comparison and testing which makes the video more watchable...

Good job you guys ! I'm gonna have to order this one too.

It's become pretty popular definitely a successful design and I'm very satisfied with it.

Awesome! I wondered if the crack was the rubber bands giving a bit and then the wing slamming back into the fuse. That is a LOT of force on those bands :-)
@joshuawfinn5 жыл бұрын
wilmracer I actually found a crack in the bottom of the wing. Even with a cf spar in there it flexes enough to rupture the skin, but it's still structurally ok thank goodness.

Is it so fast 💨 that we can’t see it in the sky? I only saw one in the beginning.

It's awesome, your RC plane very fast bro 😂

I finally got my own record for my foam board RC plane. 115 mph. I'm going for 120 next!

Awesome! Speed is addictive! By the way on foam speed planes, big props and very simple, slim planforms are your friend. The best competition results for the Speed Deamon have all come from 7x10 APC props on fairly large diameter stators (28mm minimum).

@@joshuawfinn very addictive!! I'm on version 5. Im using a 2315, 2350kv badass motor on 1300mah 4s with a 6x6 prop. My latest design was a low wing (my first time doing low wing) it's done super well! Your video inspired me a while back to try to see how fast I can go! There's so much joy in designing and flying your own planes!!
@FlyTimeRC5 ай бұрын
@@joshuawfinn my other speed planes I ran from a 7x4-7x6 but that's hard on the motor. This is my first time trying a 6" prop. I have a 5x7.5 prop I may try. But I think it's a little small. Next I'll be trying a bigger motor so I can run a higher pitched 7" prop.

Josh, how do you convert the dxf file to pdf for printing, had a go with an online converter but the scaling came out to 66 inches wide which is obviously wrong. Any advice would be appreciated👍
@joshuawfinn5 жыл бұрын
Craig Blake there *should* be a .PDF in that folder. That said, I just attached one in the build thread too. Let me know if it gives you any trouble.

Man I need to build one what motor and esc were you using
@joshuawfinn5 жыл бұрын
Riley Howe-mills it's a Turnigy 2826-2200 and 60A ESC. Bear in mind I'm pushing that motor close to its limits.
