I have just balanced my 50mm FMS EDF with these process and worked pretty well, really so easy and I am so happy! Thank you so much! Warmest regards from Rio de Janeiro - Brasil.

On your wings I’m not sure what bevel your doing at the wingtip is there anything you could do to kind of illustrate what that looks like cause at your wingtip I’m not sure what your doing with that

The bevel impacts how the airfoil tapers. A bevel that's too wide relative to the wing chord will negatively impact the shape of the final airfoil.

@@nerdnic Hey, it's great to hear that you're still fit and well. I'm completely new to this hobby, but I'm excited to start building some of your planes. Hopefully, someday I'll be able to tackle some new designs from you too!

Hi, nice work Better then flite test explantation and concept.. How many watt have the glue gun, I see you don't melt the foam.. Cheers
@nerdnic
@nerdnic Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Rohan! My glue gun is 100 watts. It will melt the foam, though. You just have to move quick and apply the appropriate amount of glue as needed. Lower watt glue guns will prevent some foam melting, but you won't be able to do long glue lines that are required on the wing.

Coming here 6 years later. I was going to purchase Redi-board from Dollar Tree that's close vs ordering a box from FT and paying shipping - Are you still finding the stuff less desirable? I suspect the Redi-board is made for students who don't want the paper to delaminate or tear off so they made the adhesive stronger.

One thing I have started thinking of doing is going to staples and using the printers there to print off plans ,peel as much of the paper off as I can(easy way to do it is run it under some water ) and super 77 the plans to the foam and also blank sheets to the other side ,this would make it more similar to the original style,going to test it out sometime this week

isn't the higher C going to burn out your motor or ESC more quickly?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 2 жыл бұрын
This would only happen if the additional amp draw from the better battery causes you to exceed your motor or ESC amp limit.

Now here is the rest of the story. The C rating is almost NEVER what is on the label which makes comparison shopping nearly impossible. Second, the lower C rated battery will give you more run time compared to similar mAh battery as it is drawing more amps. So yes, you'll get a little more punch with a higher C battery, but it comes as the cost of decreased flight time, increased weight and increased cost. Really worth it? You decide..

Very nice info.. nicely presented..but if the controller is only say 13 amps will it not burn with the higer C ratings battery?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 3 жыл бұрын
Your speed controller must be higher amp rated than your motor/battery output. Using a high c battery should increase the output, so account for that in your speed controller sizing.

@@nerdnic in my case Iam already using a bbsd 02 36 v 350W 18 amps as daliy driver to work but on steeps n stop go the lithium ion 8amps 1C battey could not much punch...I am ordering a new lit. ferro phosphate 20amps 3C peak discharge customised battery pack.. its expected to give 60A peak for 10 seconds on twist of throttle..will it burn the controller?
@nerdnic
@nerdnic 3 жыл бұрын
If I'm understanding your setup correctly, then I think you'll be fine with no issue. Going from a 1c discharge to 3c shouldn't increase your total motor wattage output by much. But where it will help is keeping the wattage higher on those hills and stop/go situations where your 1c struggles. Good luck!
