I enjoy Gary’s content but i really get the sense in this instance his mind was made up prior to even watching. Yes, the sabine getting ran through was dumb all that needed to happen was her get force pushed and knocked out. I do agree Ashley is missed with her voice work and inflections of the character but lets remember Ahsoka is older and maybe a bit jaded i am willing to let it play out. I mean her master and best friend turned into a monster can you blame her for being sullen and not certain on taking on an apprentice? She is still actively helping galaxy not sitting around drinking milk being a slob.. I enjoyed the first two episodes. It was a nice surprise compared to bobf and kenobi.

Star Wars lightsabers have always worked that way. In Legends material (true Canon imo) they try to explain it that due to electromagnetic shielding around the blade, only objects that are directly in contact with the blade get "cut" and the blade must exceed a certain minimum momentum to "cut" things, so the heat of the blade dissipates entirely outside the electromagnetic shielding

I recall that lightsabers are supposed to be very difficult for non-Force sensitives to wield them and only Jedi and Sith can handle it due to being attuned with the Kyber crystals resonating to the Force. Each time Godzilla movies would hit a creative/financial decline, Toho Studios would put Godzilla away for a while and let the demand and nostalgia rebuild. If you look closely when Sabine is stabbed at the end of episode one, it is even worse - Sabine is stabbed quite high and to the right of her chest, near the heart and certainly through a lung, and yet when we see the healed wound in episode two, the wound site has suddenly moved to be low on the right side of her abdomen, just above her pelvic girdle, a good few inches away from where she was stabbed in episode one at the least. As I observed over on Film Threat, it seems that basic continuity is a skill that Disney Star Wars finds a mite challenging...

While the heart is indeed on the left side of the chest, it is still quite close to the middle of the chest (it is not stuck to the exterior of the ribs out on the far left hand side of the thorax, now is it?), and a human chest is not all that wide. A several thousand degree energy blade driven into your flesh within a few inches of your heart is still 'near to the heart' in the terms I was using. What do you think would happen if you, for instance, drove a bar of white hot steel into a body that near to a vital organ? Do you imagine the organ would remain wholly unaffected? Is thermal energy transfer not a thing in the Star Wars universe? Do liquids no longer boil in a galaxy far, far away? Now how much hotter than a white hot bar of steel do you imagine an energy weapon capable of melting through a blast door in less than a minute would be? Do you see what I am saying here?

When we are talking about a lightsabre - a blade that would emit many thousand degrees of thermal energy at a bare minimum - that would still be proximate enough to the heart to be easily close enough to cause massive thermal shock trauma if not simply cook the organ in situ.
