@CarlGontheBeat8 жыл бұрын
+aikighost the tempest is the best. I use the octatrack for samples and master cloc;, tempest for drums and the polysynths ; and the Korg minilogue for any weird shit/ pads. I haven't posted any videos yet as I'm still learning the octatrack. I figure in 34 years I'll finally be able to use it and post a video.

Ha! I was trying to figure out what you were using for all the non-percussion elements. I assumed you had paired the RYTM with something else for melodies and such. Great to hear it creating such a full and wide pallette! That's the beauty of pairing samples with synthesis. I just picked one up last Friday and this is very inspiring...
@justinianherzog48618 жыл бұрын
+brasscat It's pretty easy to retask the toms or ride/cowbell synth engines to play chromatically on RYTM. There's an oscillator, envelope, filter, etc....everything to get a traditional synth voice.

Respect! A little jealous of the location but luckily we're having a wonderfull fall here in the Swiss Mountains too (still harvesting tomatos!) :) If you are keen to explain the differences between the drum kits that come with every pattern I think that would help me alot to understand how you manage to get these fluent pattern changes while at the same time (only some of) your sounds change drastically. Plus do you also feel that at some points the fx send (delay,reverb) is too low at max values? Enjoy the warmth and your machines! Sascha

@XephyronDigital8 жыл бұрын
Ok. So "kit reload on change is off"? Same kit for several patterns. Each pattern copied to the next to start changing The kit out. I see what's happening. This is a really smart way to approach this machine. I thought this was fake at first!
@XephyronDigital8 жыл бұрын
Great job. This is really clever.
@MottiWolkenbruch7 жыл бұрын
Can you explain this, please? I don’t get it.
@jenskuhnemann12417 жыл бұрын

Great! Waiting for your gig in Elbingerode. Is it a sample at 16:45? Sounds f**** great. How do you build this sound?

thanks! yes, it's an one-shot-sample plus a little distortion and a lot of low pass filter
@mostlikely25097 жыл бұрын
Dapayk do me a favour please, explain how you choose diferent sounds trough patern selection for diferent pads during performance? thanks in advance bro!!
@DapaykSolo7 жыл бұрын
it's basically a new kit every 8 patterns... i keep some of the sounds of the earlier pattern and add some new. i fade in the new sounds and fade out the old one during the 8 patterns...
@Fante2479 жыл бұрын
Great once again!! I'm amazed how much you get out of this one box. Are you using engines for bass, or samples? If you are using engines, is it a specific one?
@DapaykSolo9 жыл бұрын
+Fante247 the drum sounds are mainly the internal engines. the leads & basses are short, one tone samples, no loops...
@ONOFFON9 жыл бұрын
Fantastic work - very inspiring. I have a question about your workflow if you don't mind: How do you transition from kit to kit without it being noticeable ? If you're leaving common sounds between kits and changing parameters IE: your filter sweeps etc doesn't it revert to the saved kit value when you change ? These transitions were smooth enough not even to be heard.
@DapaykSolo9 жыл бұрын
+on off on band yes, that's what i do! i just have to remember which parameters i can change while switching between kits and which i better not touch ;)

@j0bey18 жыл бұрын
Incredible, makes me realise I've barely scratched the surface with mine. How much of your performance was sample based, and how much were you using the internal sound engines? The kick drums sound great, especially in the first few of tracks, wondering if they were samples. And some of the melody elements were amazing, were they typically imported or generated on the machine!? Thanks! Very inspirational.
@DapaykSolo8 жыл бұрын
most of the drums are coming from the machine, the kick drum always does. ... the melodic sounds and basslines were one shot samples. all melodies were programmed in the rytm

I'm making a decision between OT and AR for my first hardware. Which one would you recommend for industrial/minimal techno production?
@DapaykSolo6 жыл бұрын
that's a decision between apples and oranges ;) the ot plays every sample you load in, the ar has a strong analog drum section, but also plays samples (but less comfortable than the ot). i'd say: if you like flexibility, go with the ot. if you want to use analog drums, choose the ar...

@DapaykSolo9 жыл бұрын
