I have to wonder who does quality control for these kits? My Aunt worked at a sock and glove factory for years. They had people whose only job was to test the quality of the product. That meant stress testing, longevity of fabric etc. It's like they just threw a whole bunch of craft items in a box without ever testing to see if the product could be made.

You are so right! For a sad excuse of a unicorn, it's not worth it at all. I have watched the unicorn that changes hair color and it was amazing. For 20 dollars, I could've bought a pair of fluffy socks. Maybe even the wool (or hair fibers) for the mane and tail, the color changing dye, some buttons for eyes, a lot of fabric for some clothes to dress it, and with money to spare. It is a huge disappointment. 😞

I wonder how it would've turned out if you twisted at each tie (as if it were a balloon). Hmmm. That gave me an idea for a new series. One where you take some of the "YoU'rE dOiNg It WrOnG" comments and retry some of the more popular "Crap Kits" taking tips/advice from the comments- even if they go against the instructions on the kit. And I think the simple inclusion of some fabric markers would have been a nice addition to this particular kit.That way, you can draw on and decorate your unicorn as you see fit.

When I was young and needed to take care of my baby girl, I became a clown. The pay was right and I could bring my daughter with me. So, I learned balloon animal crafting. This was a blast, particularly when I gave everyone a pencil balloon to blow up on their own. I never made a unicorn but I have made horses, bunnies, weiner dogs, giraffes and more. If I were to have designed a DIY for this fun craft, I would have made sure there was enough stuffing because when I made the balloon animals, if I didn't have enough air in them they failed. Grrrrrrrrr. Why didn't I make that kit???? I would have eaten less Birthday cake!

Company’s should test their products more often as worked at a toy factory for years and we always tested the creators products before we got it out to people and their kids. I agree very much that this kit is not worth all that money. I would pay $20 for a good quality version of that kit. (Also no hate for the company that made this product)

I actually got a DIY kit that helped you make your own blanket where it had you tie pieces of cloth together and then glue on pieces of felt that were cut into shapes. BUT! The glue was low quality and most of the pieces of felt fell off so I ripped the rest off. BUT! The glue left a residue on the blanket so it is forever stained.

At least the unicorn balloon sock thing seems like something no one else to my knowledge has done at all. Slime, bath bombs, plushies and squishies are in every brand but I havent seen a balloon sock dogicorn

If you twist every section before tying you will have smaller compartments and you will use less stuffing. Also the twist will be a tiny bit to tie, unlike hen you just pinch it.
