I still think messi is a better goalscorer too, ronaldo has over 150+ apps more than Messi and in those games Messi is just behind 63 goals, it's not just about stats too Messi has time and time showed goals that would be impossible to do by any other player. Again i'm not trying to bring Ronaldo down, Ronaldo is better in Aerial Duels, long shots, inside the box positioning and yes he is a goal machine undoubtedly but Messi is just a different breed, he's overall better as a player than anyone out there, arguably anyone in the history.

There may be debate about him, pele, Maradona. Cristiano isn't even in the debate. Pele was the best player in the World Cup just once. He didn't even play most of the matches in the other world cups. Messi has been the best player in the World Cup twice(only player to do so) Messi has the highest goal contributions in a single World Cup tournament And talking about Cristiano. Messi has more man of the matches in UCL matches compared to Cristiano. So it means he was a better overall player in more matches than Cristiano. And let me say to kids, Just like winning a Euro is tough for Portugal compared to Argentina (Copa America). In the same manner winning 4 UCL with Barcelona which has total 5 Champions League is way more tougher than to win 5 Champions League (1 with Prime Man United and other 4 with Madrid which has 15 UCL.) Winning 4 for a team which has won 5 in it's entire history is way better than winning 4 for a team which has won 15 in it's history. As Roberto Carlos a Real Madrid legend said and one of the best left backs of all time: "Messi made Barcelona great and Madrid made Cristiano great." Now Barcelona is suffering to win cups and Madrid, without Cristiano, is still winning. "The most deciding player was always Messi."

Obviously I know you never heard the word cuz you are just a new kid who thinks he knows anything about football but actually doesn't. Messi was the best player in the World when he was in Barcelona. Messi has the highest assists in PSG in his second year where he was playing in the deep midfield creating plays from there. And still had goals like a striker. Messi who is a one club wonder and supposedly can't play outside of the Barcelona team😂 won the Copa America twice with his nation an has been the best player in international tournaments every time until recently in 2024 when he wasn't the best player just bcuz of his injury. He has been the best payer in the World Cup twice and as a World Cup unlike other self proclaimed goat And talking about leaving legacy in different teams. Cristiano was in prime Man United, Prime Madrid, went to consecutive seria winners Juventus who lost their consecutive streak playing with Cristiano which was continuing from past 10 years. Just when Juventus lost it, Cristiano left for another glory hunt when he went to Man United and we know how disastrous it was. The only time he went for a challenge to go to a struggling team was his move to Man Utd after leaving Juventus and we know how bad he was and got kicked. Glory hunter just like his fanbase.

I was able to see Pele, Maradona, and Cruyff play. These three are on the top shelf in the Greatest Players Pantheon. Messi belongs there as well. And, he's still living: A living legend. My father also puts Di Stefano in that pantheon and has seem him play. DiStefano is the only Super Ballon D'Or winner. Messi will be the second.

Ronaldo is the King of UCL, the most prestigious and competitive tournaments in the world. People dont realised Messi dont play as striker. Of course he will have more assist than a striker like Ronaldo, but Rolando is still second in Most assist record. People said Messi have more free kicks, but look at the quality of Rolando's free kick. And if you are going to nit pick, try comparing who have the most goals using their head. Ronaldo is right foot but have the second most left foot goals. Ronaldo played in 5 clubs (Man Utd twice) and everywhere he goes, he left his mark. He gave and shows the world why he is the best every where. Messi cannot perform outside Barcelona. He failed at PSG. He have zero impact at MSL until Suarez and co joined him. Imagine Kross, Marcello, Benzema played at Al Nassar. Messi's fan would not stop complaining how unfair it will be, Ronaldo is 39 yrs old and still outclass current players. And before you mentioned World Cup, you should know not all countries are at the same level. Some players are fortunate to be born in a competitive football countries. Halland, Lewandoski, Zlatan etc are all world class players yet there are some unknown players who won WC. That doesnt mean those who won world cup are magically better than Halland or the others. It just meant they are blessed for playing at a football powerhouse country. Ronaldo will forever be the GOAT unless you are a Barca or Argentina fans. Majority of the world agrees with me.

Real madrid was a great team before and after ronaldo , he was just lucky to play there at that time to farm those stats (just like haaland is farming right now) if haaland plays for city for 9 seasons he will most likely have more goals for city that ronaldo for real madrid . Meanwhile barcelona were struggling for years after messi left . That tells you the difference. Any good striker could have had those stats at that time in real madrid when benzema sacrificed his goals just to s.ck ronaldos d.ck (ronaldo probably payed him).
