I love the little animation cues showing that Pochita is still alive inside Denji. The way he scratches his ear and runs over to the door like a dog are hilarious touches.

I think its because pochita basically raised pochita, like denji wouldnt start doing that stuff just because pochita is inside of him, its because he learned those mannurisms from pochita

You're getting it. Denji wanting to cop a feel puts a lot of people off but they usually aren't looking at it through his eyes. Denji is a guy who has never known kindness or comfort outside of his pet devil Pochita. He doesn't understand social expectations nor do they matter to him. Makima pulled him out of the hell that was his life so for the first time ever he can dream of more than being abused and having a slice of bread for dinner. It starts small with just being able to put jam on toast or eating a decent meal that Makima paid for. He moves up to wondering what having a girlfriend would be like then settling for just touching a girl. The man is slowly learning that it's okay to want things and how to be human.

I also want to point out how MOTIVATED Denji is. He actually has a point with his Dream Battle. If everyone around him can't reach their lofty goals because they aren't trying, then that means his dream motivates him more than theirs. Ultimately, that's what goals are for, to motivate you to do something. While Denji doesn't have the noblest goals, he's ready to work harder than anyone else and put in more effort than should honestly be required to just touch a boob. For that, he has my respect

i like it, it was vaguelly shown in MHA with Mineta, when a teacher start to trash talk his motivation, but he end up proving that sometime getting girl is a better motivation than saving the world

If you think about it, the boobs thing and blood is warm from Denji and Power is just a bridge for them to realize what they want, which is ""Human" Connection and Company", but they're too dumb to realize that at the moment. And I mean, as lazy and messy Denji is, he still try to follow Aki's rule and acting more like stray dog that need a training. Meanwhile with Power, she is a stray cat, selfish, don't like to be told to, and don't give a damn toward someone who took care of her.

I find it interesting that Denji's ultimate dream in episode 1 was to get with a girl, but he almost immediately writes that off as impossible in episode 2. Instead he goes for what he thinks is the "next best" dream. But when he thought of that dream, he thought of Makima. So it seems like his next best dream is coming true with the next best girl, Power. I don't know what I'm trying to say, it just seems interesting.

Actually that was a "small" mistranslation. When he's talking about his dream in his shed in the manga he actually says "i want to hug a girl before i die" and he gets that wish fulfilled by the end of episode 1 by Makima whne she hugs him. Thats why he moves on to the next dream after that.

He didn't think getting a girlfriend is impossible what he said is getting a girl will be difficult right now. Meaning he thinks he currently doesn't have the quality and capability to get a girlfriend, he still has dreams of getting a gf he's just starting small right now.

I think Geoff from Mother's Basement put it best when he said that while there is action and fights, it doesn't drive the show like a regular battle shonen, but rather it's treated as Denji's day job because that's what it is. The driver of the show is the crazy world around these characters that are doing their best day to day and just trying to live

I'm glad you guys have stuck with it so far, I was worried that Denji's hornyness might have been a turnoff for some western viewers, a lot of the Anime that become most popular in over here don't have much of that (Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Fullmetal Alchemist). But it's also basically impossible to explain why Denji isn't "problematic" (certainly compared with some other Anime series, like Monogatari, Mushoku Tensei or whatever) without spoilers for how the story (and Denji's character) progress in really interesting ways.

Re: the odd structure of this episode- I suspect they struggled to fit the source material to episode boundaries for this arc. The episode actually ends with the *first* page of chapter 12- which, y'know, whatever, you're one page over. But that chapter is itself the middle entry in a three-chapter stretch covering the aftermath from the Bat/Leech fight, which really wants to be taken as a single piece imo. I kind of assumed it would all be in this episode, after I saw the last one, but I suspect they felt they would have had to cut the Leech fight to almost nothing to make that fit.

Yes, and Leech fight was incredibly important to highlight Kon. If that had happened 10 secs into the fight it would have had far less impact.

@crystalblade13 Idk, I tried an episode of Rezero and didn't care much, but I don't doubt that it's good. I tried like 5 eps of Konosuba and didn't care for that either. Mushuko Tensei is like the Isekai grandfather and I think it's good but nothing crazy. The reason I put Slime and Spider up top is because I've read the LNs. Even found fan translations and MTLs when I had to and they are amazing. Shiled hero is good. I read overlord too, but it makes me feel torn and I think it's cool, but I would never call Inz the hero or good guy, but it's really good with the action and fantasy. I'm a fan of op characters too. Lol

We manga fans really let people to feel how they feel about Denji and CSM like, this story clearly can explain itself and we keep trying to defend itself and spoil everything while doing that…let people have experience. Who like some random person explain things about what you just got into? As exampled here, the show explains about touching boob dream very well, on its own.
