[Touhou] Subterranean Animism - Extra Stage "Perfect" (ReimuA)

Hey, it's been a while since I uploaded any serious Touhou stuff. D:
For some reason I decided to finally get around to this. This stage doesn't really have many spots that give me much difficulty; the main trouble spot is the 8th spell card (Genetics). It took fewer attempts to get this than my other NDNB Extras (maybe this was my 6th or 7th run that reached the boss?). Whatever that means.

I've watched this like a dozen times already. Really good stuff! Though the most boring part every time for me is taking the safe spot at Sanae's last spell. It's not needed and doing it lowers the overall badassness of the run. And almost everyone does it.

The speed of her bullet spam is just absurd. While some speel cards look rather piss poor others really require some experience with her apparently. Nice run, would you say this is easier or harder that IN's extra stage?

I believe that Koishi is relatively easier to beat than other extra bosses such as Nue and Flandre, though most of the people don't believe so due to her mind-blowing spell cards. What is your opinion?

lionminhu nue is the easiest extra boss. And flan is no where near this difficulty. No hitbox make EoSD quite hard, but still this is way harder

Censored!! is based on Hartmann's Youkai Girl, which came from this game. Censored!! came out in July 2013, this game in August 2008.

No, you get multiple lives, or "extends" as the game calls it. You either earn them via blue points or heart pieces, depending on the game you're playing.

ZUN got...VERY experimental with shot types in this game to say the least: - ReimuB tries to be a homing shot, a concentrated shot a-la-Magic Missile and a scoring shot type at the same time, and fails at all of these due to pitifully low damage, mediocre range compared to other games' homing shots and being unable to efficiently kill enemies because of the former points - ReimuC tries to be SakuyaB from PCB, but its lower damage and slow shots make it even harder to use and way less worth it to master. Her ability is just an easy way to lose lives stupidly. - MarisaA isn't bad at all... it's just confusing. Having to go unfocused to deal big damage to bosses means you have to pick between sacrificing damage by dodging focused or sacrificing safety by staying still and barely moving. Also, most of the time one of your strings will never hit the boss even if you're in front of them. - MarisaB is awesome at stage portions, but as hard to master as ReimuC and subpar against bosses. She'd definitely get more use if ZUN discovered the C key while making this game - MarisaC is just plain bad. While her bomb is goo for panic bombers, that's all she offers. Bad damage, bad range, slow bullets, not good. Meanwhile, ReimuA is a straightforward concentrated needle shot with the addition of border gapping which comes in handy for some stage portions Not all shot types deserve usage. There's a reason why no one tries to Lunatic NMNB UFO with MarisaB

@@unfunniestman you are right about Marisa A and B. But i find reimu B very enjoyable bcs it can pull all items when all buttons released. Plus, its strongest Homing Shot among all TH Games. Tenkai's Homings are even better.

Chaos Boi Boi Jevil no idea what you mean. he’s had some really uninteresting characters and spells and shit but koishi isn’t one of them. there’s a reason she was like the #1 most popular touhou character at one point. her spellcards are some of the most unique and characteristic in the franchise I’d say another character with very cool attacks I’d say would be Junko, given that her minimalist method of attack really fits with her whole “pure” getup satori is pretty cool too even though she doesn’t really have hardly any unique spells of her own, but I guess that’s the point of her being a psychic
