Fantastic job polishing up a blaster that is otherwise a serious turd. Probably the best performing Slingfire there is, that still uses the native propulsion system.

The metal bolt sled is necessary. I had a 12 kg spring in there and it snapped in half. Maybe not necessary if your not doing a 12 kg spring.

Enjoyed your build. I bought the complete set from Worker as well. One thing I do suggest is reinforcing the gear box and shell around the gears with epoxy putty. I ended up destroying a peg post under the heavier load and it required buying another blaster to salvage for parts.

Hey nice video, that clear breech was originally made for the longshot. That boltsled can handle up to 12 kg, so there’s room for improvement. One last thing I live in canton and was wondering if it’s worth it to come up to one of you Wars.

Longshot! That was it. I work in Canton. Lol. The war schedule is a bit sporadic, but if NEON gets one scheduled AND the weather cooperates it’d be totally worth it to drive up. Check out NEON Club on Facebook for upcoming war dates. Always love having new people show up. We have about 3-4 that drive out from Pittsburgh most wars, so it must be pretty ok. Lol.

Brad! I know this video is old....but I simply cannot get the metal bolt sled you've got installed here to work with my Slingfire. I know you talked about having to sand down the plastic gear train that's attached to the new bold sled, is that something you had to do to be able to prime the blaster? My Slingfire has the bolt sled and handle/gear kit from Worker and it will no longer prime and I cannot figure out why because the blaster primes when the shell is removed, but will NOT fire when I put it back together. It's gotta be catching on something and I can't see into the shell when it becomes an issue. I, too, really enjoy the Slingfire and I just wanted to beef it up a little for a better spring and now I can't use it at all. I should probably try and sand it down...... Has anyone else experienced this?

It’s really hard to help effectively without seeing a blaster in person. It’s been a while since I did this mod but I remember the biggest issue for me was the alignment of the gears on the priming handle. The handle needs to be installed in the position that matches the prime state of the bolt. If it’s unprimed and the bolt is all the way forward the handle should be in the rear position. Really difficult to put into words I know. But if it’s priming while open it should prime while closed. I wish I could be more helpful by over text.

Get brass, find a auto parts store, they can have decent springs, and start with a firestrike, there brass breech a knockout

How tightly does you clear plastic blocky bit fit

Pretty darn tight. Though I did only dremel away a small amount of plastic at a time and retry closing the shell over and over again until it was perfect. It took about an hour of dremeling until I was happy with it.

Daniemac if you removed too much plastic you could probably get away with epoxying the plastic blocky bit into place. Might never come out again though...

Can the same be applied to the scravenger??

No. It has different internals.
