37:18 - 38:31 That scene just further solidifies why Starlight Glimmer has become one of my absolute favorite characters in this show. She knows how to be kind and giving to others as a result of Twilight's teachings, while at the same time not being afraid to tell someone that they screwed up (aka, tough love), which I feel she's always been able to do. She's the voice of reason whenever Twilight doubts herself when things don't go exactly by the book. #TeamGlimmy

Justin Galloway ikr. Sooo who exactly is the teacher and who is the student. Starlight has taught her so many things and not just in the last episode of the last season but in the second episode of this season as well. Starlight has surpassed the teacher.

As a high school math teacher, my first thought was 'They are not qualified to be teachers'. My second thought was 'What, no math class!?!" But... then I remembered that this isn't our world. And, in this world it would be really smart to send your child to this school. A degree from Friendship School would prepare them for careers as Diplomats, Ambassadors, Consultants, Trade Negotiators, Arbitrators, they could also become teachers or start their own schools in friendship, etc.. And as for qualifications, in our world many "experts" get emergency certification and start teaching immediately. And the Mane Six are experts in their elements. If other characters from the series where hired to teach at the school, for example Sunburst, they would have to become experts in an element as well as learning to teach. And any qualified teacher hired, would still need to be taught and take time to become an expert in the elements. So, all in all, the Mane Six are the best teachers for the school right now.

Regarding the teacher-thingy: I would guess the "school of friendship" isn't elementary level but more specialized. Classic teachers might be great for teaching basic stuff like writing or math, but to be frank: Ones that can teach you anything more specific are extremely rare. I can only speak for the schools I attended or get my people from, but the teachers for topics like electronics, media or IT did, for the most part, not have a clue what they where talking about. Either they didn't even try or showed stuff that may have been interesting 20 years ago, but was not relevant in the current day and age. And the handful of teachers that actually tried showing current, interesting and practical stuff? Guess what - they didn't only teach but also worked in the field part time. And higher-ups didn't quite like it - pesky modern sorcery. Yes, those people may lack skills in other fields like pedagogical stuff, but IMO their main job in class is to teach stuff and lookout for suspicious behaviour, but for solving social problems or additional support and care I don't see a problem attending to a specialized person outside class.

I too am wondering how the mane 6 can handle teaching on top of their other duties. I liked your commentary between episodes. I was amazed at how much they were able to refer back to the movie and still keep balanced with the theme of the show. Loved seeing how excited you were about all the things going on. Basically the goal is to teach the Elements of Harmony, thus making the Mane 6 the ideal main teachers (as they embody the elements) and there being no other real requirements. The trouble came when they tried to teach in the standard ways things that the standard ways were never meant to teach (like how Pinkie notes there is no equation on how to have fun).

I don't agree with the Mane 6 as teachers thing. It makes sence that they are the teachers, 'cause this is a school of FRIENDSHIP. There, students will learn about the stuff we already know (loyalty, honesty, generosity, etc) And the mane 6 are the ones who learned each of them and "mastered" them. I think that's more than enough for them to teach it. As long as you know what you're talking about, you can make a great teacher. I mean... My dad was an IT teacher for a year and he was an amazing teacher. Did he have any experience as a teacher before? not at all. He just knows his stuff and knows the best way to learn it, 'cause he learned it right. It just makes sence that the ones that master each aspect of Friendship (wich are obviously the mane 6) are the ones that should teach it. The fact that they have other jobs is irrelevant. Another thing, Twilight was Starlight's magic and friendship teacher and didn't have any experience in teaching, so what's the problem?

The School of friendship. Another scene similar to Harry Potter like the restricted section in the Canterlot library. If Harry Potter would be the case the question is which student is going to be sorted in which house and which of the main characters is going to be head of the houses ? Maybe Twilight for Gryffindor, Rarity for Ravenclaw, Fluttershy for Hufflepuff and Trixie for Slytherin ? Another option if Duel Monsters would be a subject. In that case the students would wear blue, yellow, and red jackets and Duel discs. It would be awesome to see them duel. And what if Garble the dragon would be a student ? Maybe he would be the school bully like Sunset Shimmer in the first Equestria girls movie ? And I think Diamond Tiara's mother Spoiled Rich should have private lessons at the school. She's a real bitch! As for what I saw in the episodes: 4:13 Will Tempest Shadow appear in the season ? 7:05 At the top left corner the old pony with glasses is the pony we saw in episode Hearts and hooves day. 12:15 Ember it's not a good idea to force a child to do something against her will. 13:18 If Silver Stream is Queen Novo's niece than that means either her father Sky Beak or her mother Ocean Flow is related to the queen and Silver Stream's brother Terramar is the queen's nephew. And I wonder if Silver Stream's cousin Princess Skystar will pay a visit to Pinkie Pie ? 13:45 At the top left corner is that a canadian pegasus ? 15:20 Fluttershy is good at caring for animals but is she good at biology ? 15:35 A scene from pinocchio. 17:47 Sandbar has Rarity's cutie mark. 20:33 I would like to see a griffon breathe fire. 23:30 The chancellor is a dickhead. 36:34 Looks like sadness is contagious. 43:58 I'm surprised the students didn't encounter the Pony of Shadows we saw in episode Power ponies. I felt like most of the Mane 6 shouldn't be teachers (expect Twilight) because all of them have jobs. If I were Twilight, I would have hired Maud, Zecora, Sunburst, and Moondancer for Teachers and ask Cheerilee advice for how to run a school. Or the some of the Key barriers could of been teachers. I get that they want to teach the elements but their is other characters that are suitable for teaching them. Also: Discord should teach Chaos Theory or be a Drama Teacher. (and yes I've read fanfics of them opening a school)

I think that they are doing It like a 10-15 hour job of teaching, so they can do their other job. But i think it's important to have the mane 6 as teacher to give to the student the experience they learned on the last 7 season. This season gonna be awesome, my favorite student is Ocelos, the little changeling, but i can wait to see episode where each one gonna have to interact with another, like we've seen for the mane 6
