In your description of equestrian government, through study, I have come to believe that Equestria is a structured alliance rather than an actual country. This makes sense with each city having dignitaries and the rulers not having absolute power. This means that private bureuacracies then have power because they provide a sort of structured government, having a rulebook and accreditting powers to give a standardized system. Gaining public opinion, they become a standard though not regulated by law and avoidable. While the theory is certainly flawed and requires more research for best application, this is the closest at the moment. As for Celestia, she approves universal laws, handles international relations, and resolves arguments while the bureacratic organizations handle internal regulation.

I think it's close to that, but less a case of it being any kind of official 'alliance' type deal of separate city states, as it's just a result of the national government essentially being Celestia, Luna, and anypony they give some authority to, and them wanting to be as hooves off as possible and let their little ponies grow and learn to take care of stuff on their own, each city/town has a lot of autonomy. But at anypoint, if they feel it's needed, the Sisters could step in and take tighter control. Less the Sister's don't' have absolute power, more they simply never use it unless absolutely necessary.

Movie tie-in’s, check it baby! ✅ I’m glad that we’re expanding to new locations beyond Equestria. Hopefully, we’ll get to see some places we haven’t explored yet like Zecora’s homeland, Capper, Celaeno and others. I found the new students to be very enjoyable. Two episodes in and I have new favorite characters from S8, mainly Silverstream. Her personality is joyful and spritely like her cousin, Skystar. Hopefully we get to learn more about hippogriff culture later on. Like certain other pony characters, I really dislike the chancellor. That aside, seeing the design of Neighsay made me think of Doctor Strange, which was interesting to say the least(including the fact that his voice is the Brain, didn’t know that at first). Also, I admire Starlight here. I really like how she reminded Twilight to keep fighting for what she believes in and run the school the way she intended. We’ve started S8 on a high note so far and I’m looking forward to the the rest of what’s to come! Great reaction as always, Applegeek and I really like the new intro, it’s awesome! 😆

28:00 - 28:13 I think we may have just witnessed the reason (or at least one reason) that Angel has that ego and demanding attitude. He may have literally thought that his hugs were magic and he deserved some perks in return for his amazing abilities. Now he has experienced failure for the first time. When Twilight was not cheered up by bunny snuggles Angel is actually upset and just has a look of, 'My life is a lie!'. 46:41 - 46:50 When he was first introduced that kid would have thought he was too cool to do something so adorable. This shows how much he is already learning, if it means he gets to stay with his new friends, then he is not above using the 'Sad Puppy Eyes of Doom'.

When I first saw the episode online weeks ago, Sandbar became my favorite instantly. He's such an easygoing character but is also caring and respectful of others. I'm a bit disappointed that there are no other zebras aside from Zecora. Also, Ember turning soft whenever Spike is nearby is ADORABLE.

Fluttershy's "boring" lesson was showing a phylogenetic tree! I totally wouldn't have been bored if I saw that--I'd love to learn the evolutionary history of Equestria's wildlife! Also, Gallus reminds me of Noah from Total Drama, with his sarcasm and voice.

The School of friendship. Another scene similar to Harry Potter like the restricted section in the Canterlot library. If Harry Potter would be the case the question is which student is going to be sorted in which house and which of the main characters is going to be head of the houses ? Maybe Twilight for Gryffindor, Rarity for Ravenclaw, Fluttershy for Hufflepuff and Trixie for Slytherin ? Another option if Duel Monsters would be a subject. In that case the students would wear blue, yellow, and red jackets and Duel discs. It would be awesome to see them duel. And what if Garble the dragon would be a student ? Maybe he would be the school bully like Sunset Shimmer in the first Equestria girls movie ? And I think Diamond Tiara's mother Spoiled Rich should have private lessons at the school. She's a real bitch! As for what I saw in the episodes: 3:09 Will Tempest Shadow appear in the season ? 6:01 At the top left corner the old pony with glasses is the pony we saw in episode Hearts and hooves day. 11:12 Ember it's not a good idea to force a child to do something against her will. 12:14 If Silver Stream is Queen Novo's niece than that means either her father Sky Beak or her mother Ocean Flow is related to the queen and Silver Stream's brother Terramar is the queen's nephew.
